Chapter 6

Delaney's POV

Bilbo and I walked towards the hotel where I was staying. I smiled at him and said Goodnight. I kissed him on the cheek and headed inside the hotel. I walked up to my room and opened the door to find a ball of electricity on the carpet. I sighed.

"Chirpy, I know it's you." I said

Chirpy turned into the human form of herself and sat down on the edge of the bed. She looked around the room before finally talking.

"Why are you back?" She asked

"I came to see Bilbo, you?" I asked

She shrugged, "Missed the team. You know Salem is coming back to town and I don't mean to just visit."

She looked at me knowingly and I answered her, "That's good for Salem."

Chirpy smiled, "Don't pretend with me."

I looked at her, "I'm not."

She gave me a look, "You can show your jealousy, Del. I'm your best friend after all."

I considered it for a moment before turning into Titanium. I punched a nearby wall. When I pulled my hand away, the plastered wall now had a hole in it. I was lucky to not have punched through the wall to the other side. I knew I had been known for doing that sort of thing. I couldn't help that I was battling Salem for Bilbo's love. I knew that Charley was on her side. Aliana, I believed, was on mine. Chirpy was definitely on my side, but I wasn't quite sure about Ender.

Chirpy snapped me out of my thoughts, "You really do have anger issues, Del."

I grinned at her, "Thanks, Chirpy."

She shrugged, "Anytime, Delaney."

I went and sat down on the other bed in the room and looked at her for a moment. She'd changed a lot. She had a red streak in her black hair where her bangs covered most of her right eye. Her clothes were black, like usual. She always had that emo look about her. That was one of the things I liked most about my best friend. She'd gotten me into her type of music and I was not going to stop listening to it. I sighed and laid down on the bed.

"Are you planning on stay here tonight, Chirpy?" I asked as I was looking at the ceiling.

"Well, Do you want me to stay here? I know I could probably find another place to stay." She said with an edge in her voice

I smiled to myself, "Of course I want you to stay here, Chirps."

The next morning, I woke up and Chirpy wasn't there. I didn't question her disappearance, she did this a lot. She had probably gone off to her work field. I knew she still lived here in Central City, but she didn't really talk to anyone.

I sighed and headed out. I walked towards the neighborhood and saw a moving truck into one of the houses opposite Aliana's. I walked up onto Aliana's porch and knocked on the door. I heard some shuffling inside, before the door was opened by Ender. I raised an eyebrow at him and he smiled at me.

"Hey, Del." He said

"Hey...Is Aliana home?" I asked

He nodded, "Of course she is, It's her house after all."

I gave him a look, "Uh huh."

He gestured for me to come inside and I walked inside the doorway. Ender closed the door behind us and I followed him to the kitchen, where Aliana sat, eating a waffle. I cracked a smile at her.

"Hey, Del. Want some waffles? I have more in the fridge I can toast if you want." She asked

I shook my head, "I'm good."

She nodded, "Alright, what did you want?"

"I noticed someone was moving in across the street. Do you know who that is?" I asked her

She smiled, "None other than Salem Vriska, herself."

I nodded my head slowly at her words, "That's nice. Is Salem coming back to stay?"

Aliana sighed, "You are asking quite a lot of questions, Del."

I looked at her, "I know."

She smiled at me, "Jealous much?"

I narrowed my eyes at her, "Whatever."

She laughed a little and saluted me, "Calm down Del. You know he likes you. Everyone can see it. As much as Salem wants to get in the way between you two, she won't be able to. Don't worry, Brisket with Briska won't ever sail. You can count on me for that."

"So," I said changing the subject, "Ender's here. Why?"

She blushed slightly, "It's what you think, Del. He needed a place to stay and I gave him one, discussion closed."

I smiled, "Discussion reopened. Did you two do anything? Did you like confess your love to each other?"

She got up and placed her plate in the sink before slapping me in the arm.

"What was that for?" I smirked at her

"No, we didn't do anything like that. I haven't told him I like him, so don't you dare say a word." She threatened me with her finger.

I laughed, "Alright, I won't say anything."

She walked me to her door and I walked out of her house. She smiled as I walked towards the coffee shop to meet with Chirpy.
