these are just letters
letters that we write
they are meaningless to most
aligned, they make words
words we try to spell
but words are just letters
and letters are meaningless to most
in the right order they make sentences
simple or complicated, expressing thoughts
but sentences are just words and words are just letters
and letters are meaningless to most
so sentences must be meaningless to most
and we talk, but our sentences are meaningless
and we spend meaningless money on meaningless people
because we want meaningless love in our meaningless life
but these are just letters
and letters are meaningless to most
so why do they hurt when they form words?
why do they hurt when they form sentences?
is it because they speak the truth?
but what truth?
one that we don't like
that we're afraid of?
but these are just just letters
and letters are meaningless to most
but are they really?
if they were meaningless, why do they hurt?
they must have a hidden meaning after all
so are they just meaningless letters?
