She stood motionless, staring down the barrel of the gun as Cadence snickered. He shook his head and looked at Alec, who moved to step in front of her. "Alec, Alec, Alec." He snickered, "How time flies, yet your immortality leaves you looking not even a day over twenty, am I right?" Alec remained silent and tense, keeping her pulled behind him.

"Leave her out of this Nadir, this long lasting rivalry is between you and I only. " Alec's voice was icy and came out as a hiss. Cadence, or Nadir, shook his head and tightened his grip on the gun.

"Oh shut up you fool. Did you really think I didn't recognize you disguised as a flight attendant?" He glared at Alec who pulled her tighter to his back as Nadir stepped closer. Alec sidestepped and had her pressed against the wall of the plane. "You can't forget those eyes, brother."

"You are not my brother, Nadir." Alec said coldly as his body tensed, and went rigid. They were brothers? Nadir chuckled though she could no longer see him.

Are you afraid of heights? An unmistakable voice rang through her head, causing her to wince at the pain that lanced through her skull. It was Alec.

She tried to imagine throwing at thought at him as she spoke in his head, No. Why?

I'm going to unlatch the door and shove you from the plane. I need you to trust me, Estrella.

But, the fall will kill me, have you lost your mind! She could sense him laughing.

You have forgotten so much, too much almost. At that Alec jumped forward with unbelievable grace and speed and knocked the gun from Nadir's hand with his foot, Nadir stumbled back as Alec threw a rib crushing kick to his chest and sent him flying back, oddly the passengers weren't awaken. They are dead. His voiced washed over her brain.

She froze and stared at the bodies that had turned a shade a purple and she screamed, not wanting to believe it, they all looked so at peace. As Nadir fought to regain his balance the plane shuddered, causing him to fall again. Alec took that chance to hustle back to her and unlatch the door, the wind was strong and she lost her balance and was about to fall when she caught her, kissed her quickly and let her go. His words danced softly through her head as she fell away. I love you, Estrella.

Alec turned back after she had disappeared from sight ad caught Nadir just as he went to tackle him. Nadir tried to break free of Alec's grip as he watched his fiance fall through the sky until she turned to a mere dot before disappearing. No parachute. No nothing. She would die without a parachute from this far up. "Let her fall you bastard. Just like a baby bird she will spread her wings and learn how to fly. Trust me."

"Are you kidding!" Nadir roared at him. "She's just a demon elf! What do you honestly think she's gonna do?" Alec blinked as he held Nadir's wrists. "Grow a pair of angel wings and just fly off into the sunset?!" Alec snickered at that and Nadir kneed him hard in the groin, "She can't fly!"

Alec recoiled from the hit and smashed a large fist into Nadir's face, causing him to grimace. "If you had known her the way that I do," Alec spat in his face with venom filling his exhausting string of words. "Then you would know what she is and what she's not!"

"You don't even know her! You're just some sick bastard who claims to know her!" Nadir spit right in Alec's eye. He let go of Nadir's wrists and was sent flying backward from another shudder through the plane. Pieces from the roof of the plane went flying off and the wind continued to rip metal scraps from the plane, tearing it to pieces. There was a slight shift in direction and the two men slid forward, towards the cockpit. The plane was in a nose dive.

Nadir struggled to crawl towards the exit while the other man grabbed at his ankles. As he managed to stand upon his feet the other man rushed him, smashing Nadir against the wall next to the exit. Alec smiled like he had finally won. "So you think you're the big hero today, huh?" Nadir gave him a smirk as he slipped his hand behind his back and searched for the lever he had smashed his back on. His hand came across something cold and stiff and he laughed. "Well, are you gonna answer or stand there like an idiot?" Alec grew frustrated by the passing seconds, minutes even.
