She stood gazing at Alec and his angelic knights, each and every one with their wings still folded behind their backs. Gasps continued to erupt from the crowd at strange intervals, mostly those of awe and wonder, others of scorn and discontent. Sapphire gawked at them, they looked like a legion of warriors sent from God himself. She took notice to the small insignia of wings inside a ball of fire, that of which adorned all of their chest plates. Each and everyone of them was sculpted to perfection, tall and handsome, but Alec stood out radiantly. She tried grasping a memory of him that seemed to flutter in and out of focus.

Two kids sat on the craggy rocks that overlooked The Whispering Abyss, the ocean that borders Ethereal, and The Fuzonia Forests. Their fingers entwined. The girl sat with her legs crossed, freckles dotted her tan face and she wore a huge, toothy grin. The boy was rather calm, his feet barely swaying below him as they hung from the edge. His face was blank and he occasionally glanced at the girl, heat rushing to his face. "Do you think that one day we will be separated, Estrella." He muttered. "That maybe one day we will no longer be friends?" The girls smile faded as her soft voice intertwined with the lull of her accent.

"There is always a chance of separation in the province, but as my father says, distance only makes the bonds between one and another stronger. You know that if we were to be separated, that when I came of age, I would come looking for you. " The boy smiled at this as he stared down, his silver eyes cutting across the breaking waves. The wind began to pick up, tousling his hair.

"And I would do the same for you." His voice was a whisper of a promise already beginning to fade.

She stood shell shocked at the memory as It flooded past the dark wall implanted in her mind. There was a small spark of light beyond it and she swore she could see images of something else, but before she could dwell deeper the wall slammed shut. It didn't matter, what she was silenced by that memory in a time forgotten to her, stolen from her, this man had made a promise to always come back to her. It had meant facing his brother, his wicked brother but he had come back for her, even when she had been separated from him after he'd tossed her from the plane in order to save her life. You came back.

Of course I did, I would not leave you alone, not like Nadir did to me.

A voice snickered behind me, it was raspy and she recalled it belonging t the man she had come to know as Revyn. "Why would I care about her order when the Province Realm has a high rate of coin on this girls head." Lips pressed against her neck, followed by the wet feeling of his tongue on her skin. "Sweet little demonic angel she is, huh?" Alec growled at the man and took a step forward. "I don't suggest you come any closer, or she's dead."

Alec, seemed to relax, as he always did in a confrontation with others, he seemed to be digesting the mans words slowly, chewing on the thoughts running through his head. There was something behind those silver eyes of his, something dark. She couldn't even begin to understand when he finally retorted. "Then you don't get the pay." The man went quiet as if pondering this new realization. His hand seemed to loosen and she took that moment to reel her foot back into the faeries knee, it gave way with a crack and she made an attempt to run for safety. But, before she could move more than a few feet away, another set of arms snatched her up, they were cold and wired with muscle. The unknown restrainer pinned her so tightly against him she began to choke for air. Black spots dotting the edges of her vision.

"Alright you gotta' point. How about I make a deal with you? You give me 130 shillings and the girl is yours?" The faerie spoke between loud exhales. Revyn lay crumpled on the ground, clutching at his leg, which was bent at an odd angle, it made her reel back and gag. Alec narrowed his eyes at him menacingly and spat.

"Or I could kill you, take her, and leave your body as a reminder not to mess with the nephilim race. " Alec's eyes remained narrow and were locked on her, and she felt hot tears spilling down her cheeks.
