Chapter 5: Why They Became Knights.

The enemy base had been destroyed in almost a matter of minutes, but no queen had been found. They searched everywhere but to no avail. They regrouped in the center where James had told them to. It was there that they found James covered in blood from head to toe. He was agitated by a couple things but the main one was that they had been sent on a goose chase. Suddenly a waterfall of cold water dropped on him for a few seconds washing the blood off of him. The Warriors did their best whenever they could to prevent him from drinking blood seeing how that added souls to his undead army.

"Thank you, Aqua. Your help was appreciated just next time please warn me when it's bath time." he asked keeping calm.

"I do it only because I care for you." Aqua said sweetly.

He dried himself off with his black flame and then patted himself off.

"Alright, everyone teams of four. Do one more look around the base."

Everyone teamed up in three groups. Andrea was in a group with Dusk, Snowflake, and Aqua. Then it was James, Blaze, Thunder, and Steel. And lastly Gravel, Fi, Windy, and Maple. They went off in separate directions and started searching high and low. Andrea was looking through some rubble for any signs of a trap door or something of the sort when she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Snowflake and Dusk.

"Andrea, can we talk for a second?" asked Snowflake.

"Uh...sure. Whats up?"

"You see, we didn't mean to hurt your feelings if what we said offended you. But it's just that..." Snowflake got cut off by Dusk.

"We're just worried about James. He's been through alot and we think that he's holding back something. He's lost the two people he cared the most for but didn't turn back into the Black Death."

"Plus he's back in a stressful environment that will put him back on the brink of insanity. The only thing that's stopping him from crossing that line is you currently." Snowflake said speaking again.

"What do you mean?" asked Andrea now more confused.

"You now hold the leash of the alpha male. Or so it's called. You now control his sanity, his mindset, and his actions just by talking to him. That's the Second's job. To take care of the First and recently added, to help better the First when he starts to act out." Snowflake said.

"So I'm basically in charge?"

"Not even close." Aqua said stepping into the conversation. " While James is prone to do questionable things, he is still the leader. He makes the rules, the orders, and the decisions. It's just your job to affect his decisions. To be the softer side to him."

"So I affect his decisions based on how I shape him?" Andrea asked now realizing her role.

"Exactly, but that also means that you're also a problem."

"How?"

"Avangelyne was completely immortal, or so we thought, but when ever she was presumed dead or hurt, he lost it. He went crazy with rage and slaughtered what ever got in his way. Until Ava got control on him he would continue. He's highly protective of his mate or friends and seeing them get hurt enrages him. He don't like to see their friends hurt. Now you're in that position to unleash the beast within him. You have to be careful despite your immorality. your immortal through and through just like him, both body, mind, and soul due to your similar blood lines but that still doesn't mean you're invulnerable. You have to be careful from now on and be wise with what you do."

Andrea turned away from the girls and looked at James. Could she really bring him back from the brink of insanity? Could she really affect his decisions for better or for worse? She got her confidence back and smiled before turning back to the girls she was with. Of course she could do it. She would protect him for a change and help make him even more happier than he was.
