I stood there with my eyes zoning at the two stores, Daisy's discounts and Guns, Guns, Guns. The security guards and the man in the mask lift the dead body carrying it away. Fawkes taps my shoulder reminding me that staring is impolite.
(Y/n)-"What do we do?" I whisper to Fawkes.
(Daisy)-"Head over to Hotel Rexford. Get yourself settled!" She yells from behind the counter of her store. I wave a hand as a gesture to thank her. I hope she's just being helpful and not thinking we're just a waste a space.
I lead the way hearing Fawkes footsteps behind me, walking through an alley-- the people walking by give us some judgmental stares. One person turned the corner and saw Fawkes and ran the other way. I'm sensing they don't get many friendly super mutants around here, plenty of ghouls though.
We make a left and the town people were minding their business doing their normal routine, the security guard tips his hat as a greeting.
(Voice)- "Hey! Everyone! Listen up." Voice came from up above a balcony, I look up to see a ghoul with presidential attire. For a ghoul, he's a good looking one, his voice is the right kind of smooth.
(Settler)- "What's on your mind this time, Hancock!" A settler shouted near by me.
His name is Hancock?
He gazes down to Fawkes and I with a head tilt and a smirk, his dark eyes pierced through my invisible guarded walls making me feel intimated at the start. I can feel myself blushing.
(Hancock)- "I have a few things to say. I can see we have newcomers. A super mutant and this gal. Treat them like everyone else here. You guys are home." That was a nice welcoming. Hancock continues with his rambles and ends with him tipping his hat and goes inside the building behind him.
Through his ramblings he mentioned a group called The Institute.
(Y/n)- "Fawkes, what is the Institute?" I whisper.
(Fawkes)- "An organization of some sort?" I look around seeing the expressions of the people of Goodneighbor-- they look hostile. They shout curse words about The institute and telling them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
It's not my business.
As long as this group stays out of my way then there is no problem.
Now, what can a nineteen year old and an intelligent super mutant do?
The building Hancock came from, right underneath it is a sign that reads, The Third Rail. Not sure what that is but doesn't hurt to take a look. I lightly tap Fawkes arm pointing in the direction of the building, he nods his head agreeing to come with. We enter inside and was greeted by another ghoul dressed in a tux.
(Y/n)-"Uh..Hi." I say awkwardly.
(Ghoul)-"Newcomers are welcome. I toss out the troublemakers. You keep that in mind."
(Y/n)-"Will do." I plan on being invisible. No trouble.
We walk in heading down two sets of staircases, the place was loud but not loud that my eardrums were going to burst. The people of Goodneighbor were socializing, drinking and having a good time. At the bottom step I hear a woman beginning to sing, I've heard music before but nothing like this.
Her voice sounds so beautiful.
I dart my eyes to the voice spotting a woman in a red dress, she's up on a stage with a microphone stand in front of her. Even her smile was pretty.
People were coming and going and I felt like I was in the way, I look around for an open seat or a place to stand but the place was packed. A spot finally opened at the bar and I rush towards it squeezing my way through, I crash up against the bar feeling eyes on me.
