Emily and Gracie were enjoying a call, chit – chatting about their vacations and on the other hand equally tensed for their class shuffle, the same old story. It was the end of March and tomorrow - the first day of Standard 8th. But this time maybe as if the school authorities knew about the wars, they shuffled the classes wickedly - Gracie and Em were in one class and Stacie and Flora in the other. Well not much, but each of the four were pretty happy having at least one friend in their section.
While almost of the students have seated themselves comfortably, suddenly a girl neatly dressed in her uniform with her long, oily hair tied up into two plaits arrived in the class. She was looking around the class for a seat, and found her place in front of Em and Gracie. Her name was Austin.
Emily passed on a smile to her but Austin didn't seem to be much happy. Her friend, Suzanna was in the other class. Emily put forward a hand of friendship and asked Austin not to worry.
"We are always there for you dear" said Emily and Gracie.
It was the first time Austin passed a fresh smile to the two pals. Suzanna had also started her course of friendship with Stacie and Flora.
