Robins pov

I finished school and didn't really want to stay in the house so I went for a walk. As I walked out of the front garden to my house I headed for the field where I usually met Ty. I just walked there without really thinking about it. I was drawn to the place in the same way I was drawn to Ty.

As I walked I thought about how much my life had changed. I used to live only for other people, to protect my brothers mainly but now I had something of my own. A purpose. A friendship that was growing. Ty already meant so much to me. I had never been this close to a human being before. I wanted to be around him all the time, I wanted to be as close to him as possible. I liked everything about him. I was falling in love with him. As I admitted my true feelings to myself I felt a new self seeping through. I felt lighthearted and happy. Maybe this was love and hope. I had so much hope. Hope for the future. Any future with Ty in would be a good future.

"I'm sorry" I said automatically. I had collided with a lady. Not watching where I was going.

"That's ok. It's Robin right?"

As I looked more closely I recognised her. It was Ty's dad's girlfirend, Leticia.

"Yeah, hi. You ok? Sorry I was daydreaming."

"Yes, I'm fine. So Ty tells me you are going out tomorrow night?"

"I think so. Were going to a party."

"So what are you planning on wearing?"

Oh great. I just knew she would be that kind of girl.

"I don't really know yet. I haven't decided."

"I have something that would be perfect. Why don't you come back with me and try it?"

I really don't think her clothes would fit me and it might look a bit odd to Ty if I just randomly turn up at his house to borrow his step-mum's clothes. It feels a little desperate.

"I don't really know. Err..."

"Ty is out helping Jeff with some work. I'm home alone and could do with some company."

"Ok then. Why not."

I was already regretting it. I just couldn't think of a good excuse. I'm rubbish at excuses.

We got to Ty's house and Leticia opened the door. We went into the kitchen and she asked me if I wanted a drink. I didn't. Then she told me to wait. While I was waiting I found some pictures of Ty. They were all from the last few years there was nothing very recent. I wish I had a picture of him. I think ill try and get one at the party.

Leticia came back downstairs with a pair of silver shorts and a black vest top. She was making jingling sounds from all the silver jewellery she had in her hands. I could imagine that she looked gorgeous in the outfit. It was that nice I think it would even flatter me!

"Go and try it on. You can use Ty's room. Second door on the right."

I don't know if I was more excited at the prospect of looking nice for Ty or getting a little snoop in his room.

When I got into his room it was blue and white. Everything matched and trust me that's not normal for a council house. Most people get what they can afford, when they can afford it. All the furniture was white and the walls were a pale blue. It was the most relaxing place I had ever been. He had a bookshelf, a desk, a chair and a double bed. His TV was huge and fixed onto the wall. I felt embarrassed for making him watch my tiny, bulky portable one. I noticed aftershave on his desk: issey miyake. Well at least now I knew what I was smell I was getting excited over.

I scanned his DVD collection and noticed he already had GI joe. Why hadn't he said that he had seen it? This boy sure is complicated.

There were some papers on his desk. I felt so nosy but I couldn't help but look. There were lists of songs (all songs I loved by coincidence,) some pieces of homework (not done) and some drawings. Really amazing drawings. I would get him to tell me about those later. Without saying I had seen them of course.

"Robin you nearly dressed?"

Crap!! I had forgotten what I was doing!

"Yeah, just one minute."

I undressed quickly and put on the outfit and accessories. I left my school tights on because I didn't want anyone to see the bruises. My arms weren't too bad. I could pass them off as being a little boisterous I think. I ran downstairs. Leticia was waiting at the bottom.

"Damn girl, you look amazing."

I blinked in surprise. No-one had ever told me that before. Ever. I've never really been criticised or complimented. I guess that's how I know I'm average.

"I'm serious Robin, you rock that outfit."

She led me into the lounge to the mirror. Which was so big it might as well have been a whole wall.

"Look at yourself. They will be drooling tomorrow. Have you got some heels?"

"No."

"Ok well remind me to get you some before you go."

I nodded and looked towards the mirror. My legs looked long and slim. I looked ok. No different to normal really, it was just that every part of me was more defined, I couldn't hide in it, but this was the first outfit anybody had ever said I looked good in. For that reason alone I would definitely wear it.

"Is it OK for me to borrow it?"

"Yes of course it is. So how do you like Ty?"

I could feel a traitorous blush creeping up my cheeks. She smiled at me.

"Well he really likes you. He talks about you non stop. He was so worried he had gotten you into trouble yesterday. He insisted on coming straight over to take the blame."

Aww. Bless him.

"I wasn't in trouble."

"I know honey he told us."

I nodded again. There wasn't much else to say. I couldn't think of anything to say. I'm so rubbish at conversations, especially small talk.

"Well I better be going." I finally said. - couldn't bear anymore awkward silences.

"Ok, let me just grab some shoes and then ill see you out."

She got some shoes and walked me to the door. As I was leaving she gave me a hug. It was awkward but nice at the same time.

"I'm sure Ty will see you later and drop by anytime. I'm always bored." She said with a sardonic smile.

I went home thinking about the party and how amazing it would be. Rocky had been having parties every month or so for years. He was always inviting me but I never really felt comfortable going before. I knew I would with Ty though.

As I got into my house my phone beeped.

'Hey Rob, can't wait until tomorrow. I think you'll be a fun drunk ;p Sleep well angel :) x'

That is, hands down, the best text I had ever had!
