To be honest, I smiled as soon as I was alone in my room. That was the most confident I had ever felt near Ryan and it felt good. I slowly walked to my bed, half-expecting Ryan to be knocking at my door to apologize for the things he said. But, that was more like a fairy tale. Ryan ignoring me was more realistic.
I took out my phone as soon as I sat down on my bed and began to listen to music and do my homework. A half hour later, there was a knock on the door. I could feel my heart beating faster. All I could think about was Ryan. Was he actually coming to apologize?
I flattened my hair down quickly and pinched my cheeks a little before answering the knocking with a, "Come in". I sat in a more flattering, but uncomfortable, as the person behind the door came in.
My face fell when I realized it wasn't Ryan. It was Hannah. I sat up straight and smiled to hide my disappointment and embarrassment.
"Hey Kelly! I was just coming to inform you that we're going to have a visitor in an hour", she said as she approached my bed.
"Oh, that's cool. Do I know this person?" I said it with a grin. Maybe my dad was coming back and trying to surprise me. Hannah caught on to what I was thinking, "No, I'm sorry. You most likely do not know this person. And my mistake, it's not going to be one visitor but three".
"Three?"
