Ch.44

Ebele's POV

"Why are you asking?" Aaron asked.

"I... don't know," I lied." I felt like I needed to ask."

"Is that all?" He asked.

"Yeah..." I trailed off." This is going to be stressful."

"You don't say," he said." But we'll get through this."

"Yeah," I said with a smile." Anyway, how long was I gone?"

"A day," he answered." Are you heading to the party?"

"How long has it started?" I asked.

"Maybe an hour?" Aaron answered." I think the party is still going."

"Sweet, I'll go take a look," I said as I slowly made my way." You coming?"

"I think it's best if I stay here," he said as he look at the gates." You'll never know what could happen."

"Alright," I said with a wave." See you soon."

He wave back at me and I made my way to Phoenix Drop. Once I got there, Dante was at the entrance watching the party go on. Also the place was decorated with colorful streamers and balloons.

Then I spotted Aphmau in a group surrounding someone on the ground. I was about to get close when I heard someone running. I turned around and saw a little boy with brown eyes and hair.

The boy was panicking and it was hard for him to speak. Dante calmed him a bit and asked what's wrong.

"N-nekoette... we were playing and... this man came... he was cloaked like one of those bandits... they took her away!"

Once Dante heard that, he pulled out his swords and ran off. I ran after Dante. Now that I think about it, Nekoette-Tan does resembles Dante.

After a while, I heard Aphmau call out to Dante. He ignored her and kept running to the walls. Then we saw the bandits surrounding a fire.

Dante attacked first and I saw Nekoette-Tan sitting on the other side with her hands tied. I ran to her side  and tried to calm her down.

"It's going to be alright." I said in a gentle voice.

Then I heard a scream and looked up. Dante was laying on the ground with a huge hole in his chest. I stood up and felt my blood boil.

One of the bandits was about to strike him and I raised my right hand. But before I could do anything, Aaron came out of the woods and blocked him. Aaron striked him in the side and he went down.

I saw two other bandits and moved my hand. That caused them to fly back and hit their backs on the wall. Aphmau had taken out their archer and ran over to Dante.

I look back at Nekoette-Tan and she had tears in her eyes. I pointed my finger down on the rope and up. It cut the rope and Nekoette-Tan ran towards her dad.

We didn't have much time so Aaron carried Dante back to Phoenix Drop. Once we got there, we went into the Yggdrasil tree and tried to stop the bleeding. Zoey, Kawaii-Chan, Nekoette-Tan, Donna, Levin, Malachi, Laurence and Aphmau were surrounding Dante.

Donna was trying her best to heal him but with that big of a wound, the chances are slim. Donna thought that this couldn't end well while Kawaii-Chan and Nekoette-Tan were crying.

"YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING DONNA-CHAN!" Kawaii-Chan begged as she held Dante's hand.

"Kawaii-Chan..." Dante moaned." Yelling... isn't going to make things better..."

Kawaii-Chan whispered his name as Nekoette-Tan blamed herself. I kneeled next to her and told her it wasn't her fault.

"But if I was closer to the party... then papa wouldn't have..." she cried.

"Don't give up," I said as she looked at me." Giving up would me you're ready to lose someone precious. I know your father will survive this, so don't give up hope."

That calmed her down a bit and she nodded her head. She wipped her tears and tried to look strong. We turned our attention back to Dante.

Aphmau had her hand over the wound and then a light appeared. After it died down, I was speechless. Dante's wound was gone, like it was never there. Dante sat up and looked down at himself.

Everyone except Kawaii-Chan and Nekoette-Tan were surprised.

"I-i'm healed... completely" Dante said." I don't feel any pain what-so-ever... what just."

I felt so relieved and took a deep breath. But that changed completely when I saw Aphmau fall. Laurence reacted fats and checked her pulse.

"She just passed out." He said.

Then he picked her up bridal style and carried her to a bed. While Kawaii-Chan was crying tears of joy, everyone else was so suprised of what just happened. That caught me off guard, I wonder if it came from Irene's relic.

I looked around and saw Aaron standing in the corner. I walk up to him and he saw me.

"Good thing you were there." I said with a smile.

"I guess," Aaron said as he look out.
