In the last period of school, history, I couldn't stop dozing off- which is odd, because history is my favorite class. I kept thinking about Leon. Was it a dream when I first saw him? Could he really be a.. A merman? No, it was a dream. Maybe it's just a coincidence that he started come no to my school. Mermen don't exist. The sound of the bell interrupted my thoughts and I looked around. People were grabbing their books and getting up out of their seats and I internally face palmed. "Ugh! Why am I thinking about that arrogant, hot-headed boy?", I thought. I got up out of my seat and headed out the door like everyone else. When I was at my locker putting everything in my backpack, Ash came to say goodbye. We shared a long hug and he must've noticed that something was wrong.
"Is everything alright?"
It took me a second to answer but I smiled and said, "Yeah, of course. I'm just a little bit tired."
He chuckled. "Well then I'll be sure to tell Serena to make you go to bed early." I laughed, too.
"Fine, fine. I'll try to get some extra sleep tonight." He smiled at me.
"Good." We hugged again and when we broke apart, he said, "I'll text you." I smiled and replied,
"Alright. Love you" He smiled back.
"I love you too." He turned around and walked out the school door. Almost immediately after, Serena came to my locker with a smile on her face.
"You ready?"
"Yeah." I grabbed my backpack, draped it on my right shoulder, and walked to the car with Serena.
Right when we got to the house, I went upstairs, laid on my bed, and looked up at my ceiling. I sighed and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep for even a brief moment. That's when I heard it. I head the faint noise of music. I sat up to make sure I wasn't just imagining things and heard it still! I heard that it closest to my window so I opened my curtains, pushed up the window and realized that it wasn't faint music. It was really loud music coming from the house next door. I looked in the window and saw the culprit. I stared into his face as he smirked. Leon was my new neighbor.
