"Oh god..." I groaned aloud as I glared at the message on my phone. A hand squeezed around my thigh for a second and I remembered Levi was right next to me.

"What is it, hun?"

I quickly locked the phone and flipped it over, pressing it to my leg. I casually smiled at him and flipped my hair out of my face. "Oh it's nothing. Just forgot I had something to do today is all."

"Uh oh," he sounded concerned then got cocky, "think it could wait for a couple hours?" He winked at me. I awkwardly smiled back before returning to the message.

"May I ask why you're bringing this up again? I would appreciate it if you dropped it, thank you." My fingers quickly tapped the message out and sent it before Levi could get a glance. I knew he'd be interested in what was going on. He was somewhat controlling that way.

We sat in silence, Levi's hand still on my leg, but it was broken by a *ding* coming from my lap. My stomach felt light as I flipped the phone over to check it.

"May I ask why you're being so formal? Lol. You do realize we fucked, right? We can be chill! Or does your boyfriend have you in a chokehold?" I glared at the phone in response but realized he couldn't see it.

"He is not my boyfriend, thanks." Ha, that'll show him.

"Cool. So if he's not your boyfriend let's meet up tonight." Not sure how I didn't see that one coming..

I blankly stared at the three dots that shined as Chris continued typing. He knew I'd read his message. I didn't know what to say. I hated him so much, yet I wanted more. But I had been starting something with Levi and was afraid to let him go. I didn't even know Chris. How could I even trust him? I felt a pair of eyes glancing at me as we drove.

"Meet me at the bar at 8. Ok?" I kept staring. We had pulled into a spot in front of my apartment. I could feel Levi staring at me. Next thing I knew, my phone was ringing. I sat there. Why the fuck was Chris calling me? Why was he expecting me to go anywhere with him? And why would he not respect how I felt and just leave me alone?

"Are you going to answer it?" Levi's deep and irritated voice snapped me back into reality. Immediately I turned to him, eyes wide and looking up at his. I looked down then back up at him and he seemed to be waiting.

I studied his face and silenced the ring before slowly and quietly replying "..no..." as if I wasn't sure of what I was going to do either. After putting the phone in my purse, I leaned across the center console, grabbed his shirt with both of my hands, and pressed my lips against his. He felt surprised at first then softened up, resting his hand on my waist. With the other, he tucked my hair behind my ear and ran his fingers through my hair, stopping at the nape of my neck. He began to slip his hand under my shirt and I pulled away.

"No, I'm not answering it," I spoke firmly, looking him in the eye, "they can wait a couple of hours."
