Staring down at the paper clutched in my hands I read over the words that would change my life forever. In a bold fancy font were the words 'You are accepted' staring back up at me.
My hands started to shake as my grip tightened. We were accepted.
"Does the silence mean you're excited?"
Did she even have to ask? I've never been so excited in my life. This moment could never be topped! Looking up I locked eyes with my best friend, admiring her wide smile before reciprocating her expression.
All the feelings filled every part of my body and before I could stop myself I was lunging forward and scooping her into a tight bear hug. I was so happy. I am so happy. I could count on one hand how many times I've been happy in my life. It sounded sad but it was just the reality of my life. I had come to terms with it but this could turn everything around.
I wouldn't have wanted this moment to be shared with anyone else. Carly is my best friend and the fact that she told me first made it special. We've been together since we were kids. She is my stability. She knows how rough life has been on me and she has been the only one who has cared enough to keep me from going down a negative path. If it wasn't for Carly I don't know where I'd be.
