Hiccup Pov

I was just named the winner of the dragon training. Yes me the Hiccup of the village. My dad?

Hes the chief and you would think I would be excited about finally being able to prove myself. I've waited years for this opportunity about finally being accepted to feel wanted. To feel apart of something important. Something that matters.

In case you didn't already know we have a bit of a dragon problem which is the start my problem.

You see my village is known to fight dragons. Some kind of glory thing I guess around here. I don't understand it honestly. Besides if you kill a dragon you'll stink more than you useally would around here considering we take a monthly shower.

Anyways you would think the Chief's son would be welcomed and working up to he the perfect leader. Unfortunately in the eyes of the other teens and my father I'm becoming the big joke.

I'm the village mess up. But I somehow got put in dragon training classes with the other teenagers of the village. I heard that Gobber had a chat with my dad and convinced him to let me join.

Fear ran through me as I was thinking about the upcoming events. I think of how I'll be humiliated in front of the village even more as the other teens pass me in class.  Somehow though I won top of the class, but I had a little help. The other teens or villagers have no idea. I'm sure they're questioning it like Astrid since I'm nothing like them.

They are great at this stuff.

They are about guts and glory me nah I'm more about inventing or drawing, but I found something else I like to do that no one has before.

I like to fly.

Being up in the clouds is the best freedom I have from this place.

Before you ask no I didnt suddenly grow wings and no I'm not smoking anything.

See here is what my problem is, everyone thinks I don't have any friends but I do have one but he's not a human.

I'm not going crazy and imagining things now if that's what you think. See my friend is what my village is known for killing hes ....a dragon and not just any dragon like a terrible terror or even a monstrous nightmare no he's what strikes fear in villages hearts.

You can hear them at night just before they strike and disappear like it was never there.

Incase you haven't guessed yet they call him the unholy offspring of lighting and death itself. Also the most hunted dragon in my village.

Okay guys this is more of a prologue then a chapter don't worry I'll be making these chapters longer then my last books but if you give me ideas I'll give you credit in the chapter I use it in. So any character ideas dragons or humans just comment. I'll answer ASAP thank you guys!!!

***2 LONG YEARS LATER **** I'm aliveeeee lol I'm going through these chapters one by one making them longer and less confusing since I've yet to finish this book. When I finish this one I'll be completely rewriting Another Nightfury 1 and 2 and no I'm not changing characters or anything I've just been reading through my chapters and cringe at how confusing i write. My goal is to finish this book this week with edits and completion and hopefully next week start my other series book. Depending on how this one goes I will consider a sequel. It's going to take some time as I did start this at like 14/15 and I'm close to turning 18 now so bare with me I promise to work nonstop on finishing up this book I've held back on for way to long thanks everyone who is still interested in my writing and I apologize so much
