ZARALANCE

Before making my way to film my scenes with Tom in CACW, I left Emily and Chloe's place early enough for me to stop and relax at a coffee shop. Almost an hour of relaxation with no one around to bother me.

Walking in, I step in line and then place my order. Nobody was here except for the employees. But as I waited, I sat down at an empty table for two right next to the small "PICK UP" sign on the counter.

"Order for Zara." Called the barista. When I approached she asked, "Are you the Zara? Zara Lance?"

"I am!" I smile and grab the coffee and watch the excitement flow through her before I returned to my seat.

Minutes later, the quiet and empty coffee shop soon had a noise flow in as the door swung open and the bells rang in response. Looking up from my phone, a boy walks in wearing a navy blue baseball cap and about an inch or two taller than me.

I watch him take his order and stand, more like lean, in the pick up counter waiting and on his phone. He looks up once and turns his attention to me. I flash an awkward smile and he walks over to me.

"Hey, Zara." He says it the way only one person can that makes me smile.

"Tom!" I exclaim and a rush of butterflies fly around in my stomach, sending happy jitters throughout my body.

"Something wrong?" Tom questions as he places a hand on my arm making my heart beat faster.

"No. Nothing's wrong." I hesitate, "J-just thinking."

He nods and furrows his eyebrows confusingly.

We sit in silence and his hand is still on my arm, but makes its way down to my hand, then to to table top.

"Order for Tom?" The barista calls out and hands he drink to him as he mutters a "thanks".

"I should get going, Zara. You should too." He winks and walks out of the shop.

Taking a deep breath in, I exhale slowly and walk up to the trash to throw away my empty coffee cup and head out to my rental car.

I check the time on my watch as I turn the key in ignition, 6:57 AM. I need to be in my trailer and ready by 7:30 in the morning.

Giving myself some mental motivation, I drive off and turn on the Bluetooth in the car. I start to play a random playlist with a bunch of songs from musicals in it.

By 7:11 AM, I had parked my car and started to walk to my trailer. Walking, walking, walking, until at 7:14 AM I got to my trailer and started to change into my costume.

After changing into a sunflower shade yellow, which I like to call "Aesthetic Yellow", jumpsuit with a black collar, I slipped into black combat boots and waited for hair and makeup to arrive.

Once they did, they got right to work. Fixing my dirty blonde hair into somewhat loose curls and teasing the roots. With makeup, they applied a natural look with shimmery gold eyeshadow, black eyeliner wings, light pink lips and a glittering highlight. My look was completed and I started to look like Dawn, my character.

Checking my phone for the time it read: 7:43 AM, which meant that they were about to start going over the scenes for today at any minute now. So from my trailer, I sprinted down to the main set and saw everyone already huddle after the Director in a circle.

"Perfect timing!" One of the Russo brothers said to me.

"I hope so!" I reply and stand next to Paul Rudd and bent over to catch my breath as they started to talk about the plan for the day.

After doing so, we all break and go to the different sets we need to be. Walking to the set, someone from behind called out my name.

"Zara! Wait up!" Tom says making me inhale sharply.

"I'm excited for today." I tell him as he walks next to me.

"Yeah, just me and you. The whole day. Dawn to dusk." He volleys back making me snicker.

"Clever." I say and turn to face him and roll my eyes playfully.

Moments of silence later, he speaks up again. "Any idea what we're doing today?"

I shake my head, "No. But I hope it's the part where our characters first meet and not all the fighting stuff. I haven't worked out one bit."

He laughs, "Sucks for you. Maybe you could swing by the hotel I'm staying at and we could work out together."

"That'd be nice." I say and nod as we arrive to the set.
