When We Were Young: Part Two (Derek Hale)

Chapter 15

Once I arrived at the Police Station I noticed something was off right away. I don't know what it was. It was just a feeling. I walked in a noticed how empty it was. Once I opened the inside door I saw Derek and Stiles paralyzed on the floor and Scott standing next to some kid holding a gun,. 

"Jesus" I said pulling out mine and aiming it at him. 

"Put the gun down Deputy" He said. 

"You first" I said. 

"Haley, do what he says" Derek said from the ground but I didn't listen to him.

"I've learned a couple things about you too Deputy" The boy said. "Tell me how did you spend most of your night tonight? When the moon was at it's peak?"

"Shut up" I said still pointing the gun at him. 

"If you don't put down the gun then I will shoot him" He said pointing the gun to Stiles' head. Worrying for Stiles I did as he told me to. I saw Derek let out a breath of relief. 

"Good, Now about that secret you've been keeping" He said as he pointed the gun at my stomach and fired. A grunt escaped my mouth as the shot pushed me back into the wall. I didn't feel anything at first. 

"Matt!" Scott yelled trying to rush towards me but he stopped him from doing so. 

"Haley, hey look at me" Derek said from the ground. I started to feel a burning sensation from my stomach from where I was shot. The burning soon changed into a indescribable pain that flowed throughout my whole body. I looked at Derek while I was breathing heavily. This isn't how I wanted to tell him that I was a werewolf. 

"I'll be fine Derek" I told him. He couldn't do anything due to the paralysis but you can tell he was trying to. I looked down at my stomach to see that the bleeding has stopped. I can feel my body healing itself. I looked at Derek and saw him take notice at the fact that I was no longer in pain and that I wasn't bleeding. 

"See, like I said Stiles, you're the only human" Matt said. We all saw headlights coming through the windows.

"I swear if this isn't your mother Mccall, I will kill somebody else" Matt said "After you" As they walked out I couldn't stop looking at Derek. The look on his face was one of betrayal. 

"I was going to tell you tonight, I can control it now" I told him. 

"How long?" Derek asked his voice full of anger.

"Since the night Isaac changed" I told him "I've been having problems with it, like the night at the pool" Derek didn't say anything back he just looked up at the ceiling. "I'm sorry" I told him looking down. Stiles must be mad at me too because he shockingly hasn't spoken a word.  

"How did you learn to control it?" Derek asked. 

"Deaton helped me, I wanted to get it under control before I told you. You already had three out of control beta's I didn't wan to add another" I told him.

No body had a chance to say anything as another gun shot was heard throughout the police station. Worried that it may be Melissa that has been shot I started to get up but was stopped by Jackson who was half turned into the kanima. He was holding up his finger telling me not to go any farther. I quickly did as he said and took a seat next to a paralyzed Derek and Stiles. I heard Matt yelling telling everyone to shut the hell up. I felt so helpless. I hate this feeling, of not being able to do anything. After a couple of minutes Matt was pushing Scott into the room. I quickly realized that Scott was the one Matt shot due to the blood on his shirt. He was shot at about the same place I was. 

"The evidence is gone, why don't you just go?" Scott asked. 

"You think the evidence mattered that much? No I want the book?" Matt said.
