It was a bright and sunny day in the village of Konoha. The whole village seemed it was at peace. Everyone was smiling and enjoying their spare time. There were hardly any shinobi out doing important missions. There were plenty of children playing ninja, while parents chatted with other parents. Except for one raven haired boy, who sat behind the bushes angry and sad. His brother had been sent out on yet another mission.
The little boy sulked for he had been wanting to train with his elder brother all week long. He had wanted to stay at his own home, but his mother pushed him to go outside to play with the other children. While he sat behind the bushes, he did not notice a pink haired girl was approaching him with a pair of manju.
"Umm, hi. I saw that you didn't look happy, and I thought I'd bring you a manju. It makes me happy so I thought it'd make you happy!" The boy looked at the young girl with a scowl on his face, but yet she did not seem scared like many others.
"I don't like sweet things." He replied bluntly. "I was just about to leave anyway." The boy got up from his spot behind the bush and turned his back to the girl.
"Wait!" She yelled before he could walk two more steps. He stopped and waited for her to say something but no words fell from her mouth.
"What is it that you want from me?" As he turned to face the girl with pink hair, he hadn't noticed, once again, that she was closer to him than before.
They were now facing each other, and the boy had a unsuspected manju stuffed into his mouth. Surprised by her action, he was forced to take a bite to only quickly swallow the treat. "Blegh!" His face had gone funny with a kind of sour, puckered look to it. The pinkette had succeded in getting the sugar hating boy to eat the treat.
"See, it wasn't that bad!" She giggled with a big smile on her face, though her long hair covered her noticeably green eyes. The boy looked at her with a cruel glare, but she did not mind in the least. Once she was satisfied with laughing, she attempted to give the remaining treat to the boy. "Here take it, you've already bitten into it."
"I won't be able to finish it, I don't like sweets things."
"C'mon please? I will finish mine if you will too!" There was a long pause as the boy thought whether he should eat it or not.
"Well, I might as well. It would be a waste if you'd just throw it away." He snatched the treat from her hand and sat down back where was before.
The young girl joined him behind the small but full green shrub. As they ate their snacks together, they quietly watched the clouds roll by from above. Before they even realizing how many minutes had passed, the sky began to turn pink and a blush orange. The young boy jumped up in surprise once he saw how the sky changed so drastically.
"I have to go, my mom will get mad if I'm late!"
"My mom will too!" The pinkette jumped up alongside the boy. As they both looked around to the once filled area with families on picnics, what was now beginning to empty as they left happily. The boy then began to run across the field to the trail back to the village with her trailing slowly behind.
"Wait! Will I see you again?!" The girl huffed as she had given up trying to catch up with him. He stopped and turned around. Not being very social, ecspecially with girls, he gave a slight nod and turned back to the trail. "My name is Sakura by the way!" She yelled once more hoping he would hear. Before he reached the tree line he stopped once again, but without turning around.
"My name's Sasuke!" He then darted into the trees leaving his new friend behind.
