After Naruto recovered from getting a blow to the face, they made their way to the hokages office with Jiraiya. The kunoichi had still yet to drop off the sheets from the front entrance.
As Sakura looked over to Naruto, she saw how much he had missed Konoha. The teenager looked as if he was seeing an entirely new place for the first time, that everything was new and there was so much to discover. Sakura was used to seeing the village everyday, but she knew how Naruto felt. Whenever she was sent out on missions, she was always happy to come home. Naruto noticed his friend was looking at him, and so was Jiraiya.
"Wha-what is it? Is there something on me?" He asked the two. Both of laughed at him, as Naruto freaked out about whether or not something was wrong as they entered the Hokage's mansion. As they entered the main office, the Fifth Hokage was sitting at her usual spot at her desk.
"Welcome back Naruto." Tsunade and Shizune both said in perfect harmony.
"Tsunade ba-chan! Shizune-chan! It's good to be back!" Naruto gave his signature smile, while he placed his hand behind his head.
"Tsunade, it's always good to see you." Jiraiya chimed in, feeling ignored from all the attention Naruto was getting.
"It's good to see you too Jiraiya. Anyway, Naruto before we get caught up in chatting, there's someone I want you to see." Tsunade said as she quickly changed the subject.
"Who is it? Is it someone knew? Do I know them?" He asked impatiently. All Tsunade did was point out to the window left of her. Naruto followed her lead, opened the window then jumped out. Outside was Kakashi Hatake, sitting on the roof top reading his favorite book from the Make-Out Series. His face lit up with joy, as Naruto ran up to him. "Kakashi sensei!" Kakashi waved to him with his book still at hand.
"Oi, Naruto. Nice to see you." Naruto looked at him with a mischievous smile on his face. Kakashi looked at him in surprise, wondering what was he up to.
"Kakashi sensei, I have a gift for you." Naruto smiled, as he reached into his kunai pouch and pulled out a book. Kakashi stared at the it in awe.
"Is this! This can't be!" Kakashi enthused as he reached for the book.
"Yep! It's the newest version to the Make-Out Series! You are one of the first people to have a copy! I got this book specially for you, though I did read it. It sounds kind of boring." As Naruto spoke those last few words, Tsunade poked her head out the window, and yelled,
"Naruto you shouldn't be reading books like that! Jiraiya!" She ducked back in the window, and began to scold her old team mate. All Sakura could do was laugh, since she could see a resemblance between Naruto and herself. As she watched the two of them bicker, she remembered that they were not the only two on their team.
Orochimaru, a rouge ninja of the Leaf Village. She only heard bad things when anyone spoke of him. There were now only two of them, same with her own team. Sasuke had left to train with the same man under his own will. She trained with Tsunade, while Naruto trained with Jiraiya. All three were disciples of the Three Legendary Sannin, but not a day goes by that she wishes everything would go back to how it was before. While she dozed off in her thoughts, she did not notice that Naruto and Kakashi entered the room. She snapped out of it once Tsunade started speaking.
"Sakura, I want Kakashi to test both you and Naruto's skills. You will do this today, and I want the best results possible. Naruto, you still have lot's of things to catch up on. You aren't even a Chunin! Your still a Genin! You are the only one in your graduating class who hasn't moved up." Naruto looked at Tsunade in utter shock, and turned his head to Sakura.
"Even you too, Sakura-chan?"
"Yep, I became one awhile after you left." Sakura replied with pride. Naruto looked down in embarrassment, for he was behind everyone he knew.
