well that was hard...*wipes sweat* phew!

Chapter twenty-three.

“Wait here, I’ll get her.” I said, smiling at Hunter and loving the way our fingers intertwined but him still possessive over me even with that little gesture. Hunter kissed the palm of my hand before letting go, reluctantly.

“Hurry.” He whispered before turning me and softly nudging me towards the shop. I smiled while walking backwards with my hands tangled behind my back. He motioned his hand for me to get going, the smile never leaving his face.

The bell rang as I opened the shop’s door, the staff immediately greeting me with plenty of ‘hi’ and ‘how are you?’. “Leah? L? Pumpkin, where are you?” I searched the office and ladies toilet.

“Jeremy, have you seen Leah?” I asked one of the workers.

“Nope, I don’t think she’s here at all cause I’ve been at the counter since morning.” He shrugged; I thanked him and walked away.

All of a sudden I felt sick in the stomach like when Noah kidnapped me but almost different. I rushed out of the shop, running towards Hunter. He was leaning against the wall in a distance. He didn’t seem to notice my panic state or me for that matter. Before I could shout to get his attention, a large hand clamped over my mouth, dragging me into a corner. I struggled hard against whoever it was. Tears prickled my eyes; Hunter was so close yet far. I elbowed the person in the stomach, didn’t even flinched.

My eyes widen when I found Leah, unconscious in the back seat of a black Mercedes. My thoughts were scrambling with ideas to get us out of this situation but I got hit at the back of my head. As I slowly lost consciousness, the thoughts running through my head was-

Fuck, it’s happening all over again and this time I don’t think I have anymore brothers…

“Nora! Wake up!” Groaning, my hand automatically went to the back of my head, a headache the size of an earthquake preventing me from moving any further. My whole body felt heavy like its being crushed by a huge boulder. I groaned again as I tried to get up and as quick as lightning, Leah was at my side helping me up.

“Now I know what it meant by ‘your head must be full of rocks.” I joked but immediately regretting laughing with this annoying migraine.

“They left an hour ago.” Leah said, frantically. I focused my dazed eyes around the space, well hello dark and mouldy dungeon like room. It’s been a while since I saw you.

“How?” I asked even though my mouth felt like they’ve been shut close with super glue. Mind linking was out of the question, with my head in a mess.

“I pretended to be asleep. I-I t-think they are going to return soon.” L said, trying not to stutter. She kept her eyes stuck on the door; afraid they’re going to burst in any minute now.

In a hazy state, I reached out towards the metal bars but instantly I felt like all energy was drained from my hand, hissing I retreated. Shit, mercury coated...

“What do think you’re doing! Are you crazy?! Nora, you’re weak as it is.” Leah sobbed, clutching onto my arm to steady me. I growled annoyed, feeling trapped. For once, hope doesn’t sound that sweet anymore. How can we get out of here? I doubt it would be like last time, I wouldn’t have another long lost brother. Miracles only happen once.

“We need to get out of here.” I faintly see Leah’s face with the little sunlight piercing between the wood floor on top of our heads. I could easily punched through it if it wasn’t for these metal bars, I could feel myself weakening by the second and Leah no different. Stumbling on my feet, the door slowly creaked open and my jaw dropped to the floor.
