"I believe that there is an equality to all humanity. We all suck." –Bill Hicks

"Have you had your horse checked for ticks, fleas, or any incurable diseases?" Aurum asked as he scratched his shoulder. "Because I feel like a rash is climbing up my back."
Cecil tapped his chin, pretending to think when he honestly didn't care. "Hm, probably not. Granted, I'm not the one to takes care of them. Actually, who does?"
Aurum could feel bile rising up this throat and he choked it down. They were forcing him to stay in a place so unclean and disorganized he could feel his mental state shutting down. They probably didn't even have functioning showers with the horrendous stench wafting from Cecil's shirt (granted, the boy had so many food stains just from today that could've been the reason behind the smell). These kidnappers sure had their plans well thought out.
He leaped off the stallion with the urge to burn his his clothes into ashes, but without a moment of hesitation, Cecil grabbed the boy's wrist and dragged him under the arch. He dug his heels into the dirt, however that didn't seem to stop Cecil whatsoever. No, no, no, Aurum cringed at the red, Cheeto-dusted fingers that encircled around his arm and somehow scorched at his flesh. The feeling was obviously imaginary, he knew that, but he couldn't help it; it was compulsive.
As they finally passed the barrier, the bustling noise instantly grew. The sight before Aurum's eyes was... Quite ordinary, to be exact. It looked like any other summer camp; children and teens wandering around in matching orange shirts. Many kids lugged piles of lances and swords in their arms as chores, a dangerous feat for one that young of an age. Off in the distance, cabins made from different materials such as marble or wood extended along the sidelines like a giant "U" shape around an unlit bonfire.
Others seemed to relax with their time, either idly chatting away on the grass or having intense volleyball matches by the sandy court. Were these kids were supposed to be the children of gods? "Should I get right on with the introducing?" Cecil asked. He began pointing at random campers that passed on by, completely ignoring the two standing in the middle of the path. "That's Sherman, Will, Katie, Holly, Connor–, hey bro! You owe me three drachmas! We made a bet and lookie here I made it out alive..."
Aurum's brain was capable of memorizing all the names thrown at him, but he could only watch everything with his mouth slightly agape. "There's no way I can fight this many kids," Aurum mumbled under his breath. "If they've been brainwashed, there really isn't anything I can do. My curiosity got the better of me; I should've taken him out before we got here."
Cecil turned around. "What did you say?"
"Nothing at all, old sport."
