Chapter Three

"I don't get it." John sighed, handing a cup of coffee with too much sugar and cream in it towards Alexander. He held onto the mug by he handle, staring with scrunched brows into the mug. "What do I do with this?"

"You drink it." John told him, putting his own to his lips and taking a long sip, showing from the side to further show Alexander. He still didn't seem to get it.

"Should it be this colour?" He asked, looking in the mug in fear. Thomas held in his laughter, spreading jam over his toast. Alexander looked towards him and whispered: "Did he poison it?"

"No, it's made for me - I like mine sweet." Thomas took the mug, gingerly drinking the hot coffee. "See? Totally safe. You want some?"

Alexander hesitantly nodded, sitting down at the breakfast bar beside Thomas. John poured a new cup of coffee, this time black seeing as Alexander made a fuss about cream and sugar. The shorter slowly lifted the mug, putting it to his lips before pulling back in disgust.

"It's bitter." Thomas chuckled.

"Yeah, that happens." He smirked, sliding his own towards Alexander. "Want to taste mine?" Alex's face felt warm like how it did last night, and nodded. Holding onto the bug before drinking it. It was sickeningly sweet, but Alexander didn't stop drinking it. It was Thomas'. "Hey, don't drink it all."

"Geez, now I have two idiots with a sweet tooth." John complained, putting Thomas' empty mug in the sink. "Hey, should we maybe go to San Diego then?"

"John," Thomas groaned, throwing a look at Alexander. "Hey, where did you come from anyway? How did you, like, you know, find out where we lived?"

"I asked if anyone had seen you." He answered simply, taking one of the sliced halves of Thomas' breakfast. He looked irritated, but didn't vocalise it so Alexander continued. "What was the 'San Diego thing?'"

"Oh, John had this plan to drive out to San Diego, where you fell I guess, and investigate it." Thomas explained before John cut in.

"Basically, nerd shit and excessive drinking." He laughed, a grin spread across his cheeks. Alexander looked between them.

"I would like to do that." Alexander said, folding his hands together as he stared down the marble bar. John and Thomas passed each other confused looks.

"Um, do you think that's where you'll find out how to get home?" John asked, tucking a loose strand of curls behind his ear. Alexander shrugged.

"No." He muttered before looking him dead on. "It just sounds fun." He remarked. Thomas ruffled his hair before standing, raising his arms over his head and stretched, a popping sound coming from his back.

"Okay, fine. You're lucky we're off on holiday right now." Thomas smirked, followed out by John. John grabbed his wrist, making him stop in the hallway, out of earshot from Alexander. "What?"

"He's not our problem. Why are you so adamant on being nice to him?" John's hands balled into fists. Thomas was put off by how harsh he was. John was usually the kind one, helping out whoever needed it. Odd that the roles have been reversed. "Alexander is not a child. If he needs to go, he can find Heaven on his own."

"This was your idea to find the 'alien' first." Thomas reminded him, glaring down at him. "We found him and he wants to go home." John scoffed. "Why are you being so mean? You're never like this."

"I'm always like this." John insisted, looking away as his arms crossed over his chest. Thomas chuckled.

"Holy shit balls," He sighed, shaking his head ever so slightly. "You're jealous."

"What?" John's face grew bright red. "No, I'm not! Why would I be jealous of a stupid fucking angel?" Thomas stepped closer, watching how John's face grew more and more like a tomato than usual. Pressing his back against the wall, Thomas could practically feel his heartbeat. "You're a dick."

"Admit you're jealous and I'll leave you alone." John bit his cheek, not willing to deny anything. Sure, Thomas was extremely attractive, but he would never vocalise those feelings. Especially to Thomas. "Not talking, huh? That's new. You usually never shut up." John smiled. "There's my smiling boy."

"Shut up-" John's eyes grew wide by Thomas against his mouth. His arms made their way into his hair. John kissed back, not knowing much of what else to do. He could practically feel Thomas' mouth curl into a smirk. When he pulled back, John bit his sore lips from whining. A warm saliva string connected the two. "I-"

"We're going to San Diego, okay? And then we'll return to normal, but this time with a normal relationship. Okay?" John nodded, his face warm. Thomas, pressing his lips against John's cheek before going to his room, the door closing the only sound made after that.

"Hm, funny," Alexander muttered, gaining John's attention. "You of all beings, falling in love."

"What do you mean?" John narrowed his eyes, glaring at the angel. Alexander smirked, a sly look on his face. Walking closer, he put a gentle hand on his cheek and cocked his head as he observed John's face.

"I think you know what I mean." He tapped the soft skin. John's eyes shot up in realisation.

"If you tell Thomas anything, I'll kill you myself." He threatened, a tight grip on Alexander's arm. "I'm human, and you don't have any right to ruin that for me!"

"Oh, I won't be ruining anything."
