Safe with Me at Last (Leonardo x Reader) - 1

New York had been invaded by the Kraang and my brothers and I had to flee the city with April and Casey. April's dad had gotten mutated once again and he was not the only one who was not able to flee with us. (y/n) was not able to make it as she was with Master Splinter, who also could not flee with us, at the time of the invasion. She was with him when he was fighting Shredder after she had stayed with him at the lair to help him fend off the Kraang there. It made me sad to hear about this when I awoke three months after it had happened since (y/n) was the one I loved and with the events of that day told to me, I thought I might never see her again along with my sensei. My injury of my knee held me back many times, but when I thought of what was at stake, I knew that I had to keep going for her and my family's sake.

Today was the day that we would be returning to the city to try to save it from the invasion of the Kraang and reunite with Master Splinter and (y/n) somehow.

Donnie had prepared April's dad's van that we had used to escape the city for the journey to get back into the city. I was kind of nervous with taking back the leader position in the city once more after I had been hurt by the Shredder and unable to protect anyone the last time I was in the city. It was hard for me to be in a coma for three months and then try to get back into everything I used to do along with my injury which made it even harder to get back into life.

Now I was determined to find sensei and (y/n). We rode into the city after destroying the Kraang that blocked the entrance to the city.

We went through the sewers while trying to get back to the lair and find Master Splinter. After searching for awhile, we finally had found Splinter in a tunnel. His robe was not on him and he was insane. With the help of April, Splinter came back into his own mind after of course we had to save him since he was captured by the Shredder and put into Stockmen's lab for a short time.

We then found a new temporary home in our favorite pizza place, Antonio's Pizza. All of us were settling into our new home when my brothers and I finally started investigating the city once again.

When we finally had gotten settled into our new home, I asked Splinter if he had seen (y/n) since the incident. Splinter told me the unfortunate news that he had not seen her since he was fighting Shredder in the sewers that day. This made me feel very sad and worried about what happened to her and I swore to myself that I would find her and she would be in my arms again, no matter what it took.

It had been a few weeks that we were in the city. We had found Karai, but we could not mutate her back and we had met the new mutated Zeck and Steranko who now Mikey proclaimed to be Bebop and Rocksteady, but there was still no sign of (y/n) anywhere! I had even gone out on night shifts to try and find her without the Kraang seeing me too. Every time I had went out, I still had found no sign of her. It made me feel a pang in my chest every time I thought of the things that could be happening to her.

Today, I had gotten up an hour earlier came back from my search to see a light from Donnie's lab and loud screams of Mikey and Donnie. April had followed Splinter into that room and asked something about retro mutagen. Raph came up from behind me as well. He put a hand on my shoulder as he had come to see what in the world was going on in this room.

Everyone came out after a few moments. Raph sat on the couch with Mikey while Donnie came in with a small beaker of what looked like retro mutagen and a container of normal mutagen. He went over to the table that was near the couch. I stood next to the couch while staying closer to Raph. Splinter went towards the boarded up door while April sat on the floor that was on the other side of the room.

All of us started talking about how Mikey had discovered rapid cellular bonding as he called it which made retro mutagen in seconds and how Mikey could not remember how he made it. This made Donnie mad, but Splinter calmed him down by saying that how Mikey made it was not the task at hand. Most of the time during this, I was in a slight daze while still paying attention to important parts. Of course, I was thinking about (y/n) and how she was still alone somewhere without me.
