They all appeared in a large room. It looked a lot like the training room back at the institute.
""Welcome to the Farmhouse" said the figure.
"You again", replied Jace less than thrilled to be with the mysterious man again. "Who are you?"
The man stepped into the light and Jace was shocked to see a face so familiar, he didn't know how he could ever have forgotten it. The man looked almost exactly like his mother, all be it a more masculine version.
"My name is Auguste Monteclaire. My younger sister was your mother, Celine."
Jace then began to remember even more. He remembered his mother telling him and Casey about the wonderful place they were going to escape to, a pace where they would be safe and loved, and surrounded by their family. He looked up at the man, his bright eyes filling with questions that needed to be answered. Yet is was Clary who was first to speak.
"Where are we, and why did you bring us here?" She asked the man.
"Like I said, this is the farmhouse. It's place our family created when the circle first came about."
At the mention of the circle all of their eyes widened.
"That's right. All your parents weren't the only ones who wanted things to be different. Our entire family was sick of the Clave's tyranny. My sister was the first to suggest we make the first move in making that change we all longed for. She convinced us, but when we found out who was aligned with, we were appalled. While his thoughts about the Clave were in line with our own, Valentine's beliefs about the Downworlders were too ghastly to ever consider. So we went our separate ways, Celine with the Circle and the rest of us to here."
"But where exactly is here?" Said Izzy
"Winchester, Kentucky. We started the farmhouse as a way of hunting hunting the dangerous downworlders, as we were created to do, but also to give our children the freedom to be kids and, when the time came, choose how to live their lives without having to give up their family, should they choose to live the mundane life. Turned it into a family business of sorts."
"You still haven't answered why?" Said Jace finally speaking up, wanting to know why now, after fourteen years, had they decided to make contact.
"I'm afraid I have bad news for you Jacob."
Spit it out he thought.
"Your sister has been kid napped by Valentine and the Circle"
It was at that moment that Jace, tired from the fighting he had been doing, against his emotions and actual demons, succumbed to his emotions and fell to his knees for the second time that night. And just as he landed his eyes closed and he was something he never thought he'd see again. His baby sister.
