Joslyn was in much the same boat as the Herondales. She has seen her beloved son Johnathan turned into a monster to serve his father's delusions, and was now afraid for her second child, with whom she currently pregnant.
Celine was a fighter, but being pregnant rendered her unable to participate in battle, or else her child would be even further endangered. So thus, the planning and fighting was left to her husband and Joslyn.
Thankfully, as it turned out, there were more people on their side than they thought. With Stephen's expertise in fighting and Joslyn's knowledge of the intricate workings of the security detail, it would be made easier to escape. Now it was time to plan.
After three months they were ready. Even if they hadn't have been they would've had to leave, Celine was beginning to show, and they couldn't take the risk of Valentine finding out. If he did he would know they what they were trying to do, and even if he didn't, there were worse things. For example, the reason they were leaving in the first place, the experiments.
