            KRISTINA

I rolled my eyes at his selfishness.

“Come on! You’re useless Brad! I am officially broke and you wont give me a piece of your doughnut!”

“Kitty cat, I’m thinking of you and you’re health line.” I laughed and made my way towards the short gate over in the corner, to wait until the bell rang.

I looked at Tom, “Hey Tommy, I was thinking that maybe we could just ditch last period?”

Tom looked up from his seat on the edge of the fence and his long features etched perfectly on his face.

“I will not get into trouble before the first month of school is over Kitty Cat.”

Brad laughed and patted him on the back, “Good one man!”

I smiled and everybody turned to look at Brad, “Uh Brad honey,” I put a hand on his shoulder gently and looked at him in the eyes, “Thomas wasn’t joking.”

At that everyone laughed and I smiled laughing together with them.

Keep them while you can Princess, you aren’t going to have them for much longer.

I looked around startled at who had spoken. Nobody around here.

                                    ***

“Oh come on Matt!” I smiled watching Brad and Liam fake hitting Matt. We were at lunch together.

I couldn’t remember the last time I had even ignored them or just hated them for something. Yeah, we had discussions but we were together after less than an hour we would order pizza together.

Then have fun because soon you’ll have to discover a disgraceful truth on those you love most.

I looked around again looking for the male that had spoken but I saw no one. Something tore inside me, and I KNEW that what I had heard was true.

“Did you hear that guys?” I asked, desperately hoping that they had.

“No, what?” Was the only answer I got.

“Nothing.”

There is something wrong, that voice reminds me of someone, someone I know…

Ugh I can’t remember, but I KNOW who spoke and it isn’t good. What could it mean? Is it true? Are my instincts lying?

Slowly I got up from the fence and started to head away to get some air.

I felt I was almost choking on my own air, that there is something really wrong.

“Kitty cat where are you going?”  I heard the distant Liam asking me, but I couldn’t decipher anything.

“I need some air.”

Walking as quickly as I could I went behind the school. Falling to my knees I tried to take a breath. Am I dying? The question kept circling in my mind. What was happening to me? Was I crazy? Hallucinating?

“Kris?” I felt a voice behind me along with a gasp. I didn’t look up I just kept trying to breath instead.

“Oh God Kristina!” The person took me in their arms and cradled me back and forth.

“What happened?” His voice was a whisper but I focused on his breathing and steady heart beat. Having his hands around me I slowly calmed down and began breathing again.

“Kristina answer me, what happened?” I shook my head but held on to him I couldn’t let go. I smelled his shirt, it smelled of fresh grass and mint. I was still slightly shaking but as he rocked me back and forward slowly until I was able to look at him.

He hadn’t pushed me to tell him but I knew he wanted to know, “Kris I know you don’t want to tell me but please trust me okay?”  I knew at that second that he cared of what happened but I wasn’t safe for him and I could never be. I took a deep breath and took all the courage, all the will power I could and shook my head. I pushed him away and stood up running away.
