There was this long, gauche silence. It took me sometime to grasp what she had just told me. And then it finally hit me, my bestfriend was going to be a fucking mother.

“Oh My God, Zar!!.I’m so happy for you.” I exclaimed, pulling her into a bear hug, and Zayn let out a light laugh.

“How far along are you? When did you find out? And Andy?”

“Calm down, “ she laughed, wiping a tear from her face.

“I found out about a week after the wedding, I’m three weeks along, and yes, Andy knows, and he’s happy.”

“Wow, so much can happen when a girl disappears to St. Lucia for a month.” I joked.

“That’s amazing, I can’t believe it. I’m gonna be the cool aunt.”

“You’re gonna be a great mom Zar,” Zayn mentioned before his phone began ringing and he walked away to pick up the phone call.

The rest of us just continued chatting until he came back with a sinister smile etched on his face.

“What’s up? Late night phone calls from Perrie I see? Huh?” Tom mused.

Zayn’s expression completely changed and his eyebrows twitched with discomfort. It takes me seconds to notice when something Is disturbing Zayn.

“That wasn’t Perrie..” he dragged,”it was my sister, and I think I’d better get going now.”

“Wait, Zayn.. we were gonna play sherades, you can’t leave already? C’mon its been a month”

“Yeah, it’s been a fucking month Angie, don’t you think so much has changed? What you did affected all of us okay?”

“Zayn... I’m sorry.. I just...”

“Yeah whatever”

“Hey, don’t be rude mate... we’ve all been through a lot but being an ass about it isn’t gonna solve anything,” Tom intervened. I was quite shocked with what was happening, Zayn’s never been rude like this to me.

“Later guys,” Zayn replied, storming out of the condo. I shot a glance at Tom and Zara before running after him. Once we were outside, I decided to confront him.

“Zayn,” I started, walking towards him before he entered his car.

“What’s going on?” I asked, gently.

He stopped for a while, and then he turned back to me.

“You wanna know what’s going on?”

I stayed silent.

“Perrie  broke up with me”

“Woah, Zayn, I’m gutted to hear that. I know how much you cared about her. I’m so sorry I wish..”

“And you wanna know why? She said, lately I barely paid attention to her, that I was too preoccupied thinking about someone else.”

“I can’t imagine why she would think that, you’ve always been obsessed with her and-“

“It’s you.. Angie.”

“Wait...what?”

“I just never thought this could actually happen to me, y’know? I mean we’ve been friends for a while now and..”

“Zayn.... what do you mean?”

“Perrie broke up with me because she was jealous of you,” he finally spit out and I heaved a sigh of relief. Suddenly my heart dropped and I could breathe again.
