After we finished shopping, Jesse and I headed home to eat. He made me one his famous grilled cheese sandwiches and we spent some quality time together. Our relationship had always been like this; there were rarely any fights because we knew how sensitive each of us got. That's just how we were raised.

We talked about our lives and our plans for the week, we even had time to watch TV. Some time passed before we fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up, Jess was already gone and I realized I would be late to work if I didn't get up and get ready. I changed into an all black attire and clipped on my name tag. I tied my hair up into a loose bun, leaving a few face framing pieces out. I checked my phone and saw I had ten minutes to get to the Bella Rosé Cafe.

I sped my way there and clocked in with a few seconds to spare. I began my shift and cleaned the empty tables, counters, as well as made sure everything was in its place. It was a Saturday night so I knew it was bound to get full pretty soon. As for now, there were a few tables taken, but they were all served and ready to go.

I was taking a few dishes out so that they were ready to grab and go when orders came in when I heard the door chimes ring. I turned around to greet the customer coming inside, but saw that it was Chad. I looked around to find a co-worker to ring him up instead, but I was alone for the time being.

"Welcome to Bella Rosé, how can I help you today?" I asked him like I would any customer.

"Naomi, we need to talk about what happened last night," he admitted.

"You mean you trying to push yourself onto me even though I thought I made it pretty clear I wasn't ready for it then? I prefer we don't," I said, crossing my arms.

"Look, I don't know what took over me. I swear that's not how I usually act."

"Somehow I find that hard to believe," I frowned and fiddled with the order screen. "Are you going to order anything or not?"

"Not until I fix this," He insisted. "Naomi, what is it going to take? I don't want everyone to think I'm some jerk-."

I scoffed, "You have some nerve. If you didn't want your true colors to be seen, maybe you shouldn't have tried to feel me up like you did."

"You never said no," he added.

"I didn't have to, my hands were doing enough." My blood was now boiling and it was taking all that I had to not slap Chad. At that moment, I was joined by Jared, my manager also known as Chloe's older brother.

"Is this guy bothering you, Naomi?" he asked.

"No, Jare. He was just leaving," I mentioned, glaring at Chad. He knew it was best if he didn't cause a scene so he did as I said.

"I was watching from the kitchen. Are you okay?" Jared asked. I was so grateful he came when he did. Ever since I started working here, he started looking out for me. He always had when it came to Chloe and me, but working together helped us bond a bit better.

"Yeah, I'm fine. He was just a bad experience I had." I knew if I elaborated any more, the information would soon pass on to Chloe. I wanted to do that myself.

"So for future reference, if he decides to come back anytime soon, I'll be the one at the register," he said, opening the cash register and making sure we had enough of every bill.

I nodded gratefully, "Thank you, Jared." I quickly got back to work and went on with the rest of my night.

During my break, I sat down to eat a chicken pesto panini. I had a couple of notifications from the girls talking about what they wanted to do tomorrow and one from Jesse. As I bit into my sandwich, I opened my brother's message and saw it was a screenshot.

It was one of Asher's tweets. It read:

Santa Monica, I'm coming for you. #5days

Attached was a text from Jesse.

Jesse: i felt like i should warn you

Naomi: Thanks

Naomi: It was bound to happen some time

Jesse: if i get anything else i'll let you know

I wasn't sure how I was feeling about that. I was just trying to shove aside what happened with Chad and getting this kind of news was not helping.

I hadn't seen Asher since he had gone away for college. We went from talking everyday to blocking each other on social media and not saying a word. I regretted ending so messily; we could have had a clean break, but I let my emotions get the best of me and pushed him away.

I had five days until I risked bumping into him. I had five days to think how I would face him, what I would say.

I wasn't ready.

A/N: This was a bit of a shorty, but I felt like adding more to it would be overkill. The next chapter will have a little bit more meat to it. I love all the support this story has gotten and the excitement you guys have, waiting for this weeks chapter.

It's definitely different than the original but we will have just as much juicy drama, I promise. This just makes more sense.

As for today's spotlight reader, we have Blue_246! Loved your comments

Love you guys so much, talk to you next Saturday.

xoxo
