After my venting session with Wesley, I put myself as together as I could so he could get back to living life. I wiped away the running mascara on my face and insisted he go, "I don't want to keep you too long, Wesley. Trust me, you've done more than enough. Thank you."
"Are you sure? Because I can take you home. I don't think you should be driving like this."
"But I brought my car," I pointed out. "Besides, I promise, I'm fine."
"I'll drive your car home and I'll ride back here on an Uber. Let's go," he got out of the car and went around to open my door for me. "I'm not taking no for an answer."
I sighed and took a step outside of the car, "Know I'm doing this because you're just as stubborn as I am."
"I'd bet on even more," he smiled. "Let's go."
We left the diner and tried to lighten the mood to distract me from the obvious. Wesley was back to cracking jokes and sassing me. I was glad things were back to normal. Then, I got to thinking about what he and Skyler had going.
"Wes, can I ask you something?" I questioned, turning my body towards him.
He glanced over at me and raised an eyebrow, "About?"
"You and Sky. What are your intentions?"
"My intentions?" Wesley laughed out. "What the hell are you talking about, Clark?"
"It just seems like you and her have a thing going. I saw you were all smiley at lunch; you had your flirting face on," I stated as a matter of factly.
"You have clearly never seen me flirt. I was just being nice," he clarified. "Did you want me to be an asshole?"
"Absolutely not. I was simply confused," I added. Now that I knew this information, I could securely hint to Skyler that Wesley was not interested in her like that.
"You really thought I was flirting with her? You know, she's not my type."
I frowned, "What's that supposed to mean?" If there was one thing that truly bothered me was when guys shut down perfectly great girls because they weren't their usual "type."
"Naomi, you're putting words in my mouth. Skyler is a great girl. We have fun, but there's no spark. We're better off as friends. You get that, right?" Wesley pulled into my driveway and then drew his full attention to me. "It's nothing against her."
"I do get that," I stared down and played with my hands. "I also don't want to see her get hurt."
"She's not. I have feelings too, believe it or not."
I half smiled as I looked up at him, "You proved it today. Thank you, Wes." I unbuckled my seatbelt and reached over to hug him.
He held me tightly and mumbled against my hair, "I'm always here."

After spending some time alone, I heard a knock on my bedroom door and was joined by my brother. He had a box of pizza and two water bottles. His face was full of sympathy and I immediately knew the news that I had bumped into Asher had come around to him.
"Heard the news?" I asked, taking the box and setting it on my bed before taking a slice and digging in.
"I'm sorry I couldn't warn you-"
I stopped Jesse from going on because I knew it wasn't his fault. "You're not always going to be there to save me, Jess. Besides, I had a good cry today, so I feel like a good portion of my pent up emotions have been released."
"That's right, I heard you were with the girls when it all happened."
"I was, but then I bumped into Wesley and had a total meltdown," I chuckled before continuing, "He looked so scared, he had never seen me cry like that before. It was like he didn't really know what to do."
The same look that he had on the day we bumped into Wes while shopping, suddenly reappeared. "Seems like he did a great job at calming you down," Jess smiled.
"Obviously he felt pity. I would do the same if someone I knew were a wreck like me, too," I pointed out.
"Or maybe he wanted to take advantage of being the shoulder you cry on. It makes us guys feel useful, you know?"
"Jess, I've told you once, and I'm telling you again. We are just friends," I clarified.
"Fine, I won't push it. But I will say I told you so when it happens," he boasted, stuffing his mouth with pizza.
I insisted on changing the subject and moving on. We decided to go out and watch a late night movie at the drive-in theatre. He invited his soon-to-be girlfriend and a few of his friends. The plan was to get there and set up a mini station in the back of Jesse's pick up truck with chips and a variety of drinks, along with blankets and enjoy a night out.
Everything was fine and dandy as we were watching "Rebel Without a Cause", but soon enough I got a text from Wesley.
Wesley: How are you doing?
Naomi: Way better than earlier. I'm at the drive-in right now.
I thought that would be the end of our conversation and that he just wanted to check up on me, but he then kept messaging me. I was watching the movie while texting him, receiving weird looks from one of my brother's friends, Kyle.
"Is that the new beau Jess mentioned earlier?" He questioned.
"A friend, Ky. You and Jess are thinking way too much out of a small situation," I clarified.
Kyle scoffed, "You think too little. A lot of us guys work slowly and build ourselves up for our girls and by what I've heard, it sounds like this Wesley kid is doing just that."
"Think what you want," I sighed, continuing to text Wesley as the night progressed.
Eventually, the movie ended and we all headed home. I was stuck third wheeling with Jesse and Paige until they decided to say their final goodbyes before we left for our house.
Naomi: I love being a third wheel
Wesley: Haha it's better to be alone than with bad company
Naomi: I need to get better at finding good company
Wesley: You found me didn't you?

A/N: I know, I know. You guys hate me because I haven't posted in months. I'm really sorry, but I had a month break and wasn't inspired to write. I decided to focus my creativity on something else on social media - Youtube.
I'm hoping to be able to do a face reveal soon so I can start sharing other things I'm doing that I think you would like to see from me. If you guys want that, let me know!
As for the story, I do plan on continuing to write it as the words actually flowed this time around. I am very excited to see where it's going and obviously there's going to be a lot more tea to be spilled than in the original draft.
Let me know what you guys want to see coming from Wes, Naomi, and the rest of the characters. I wanna take your input and make this story yours.
As for this chapter's spotlight reader we have andrea2593! Thanks for reading girly.
I love you guys so much.
I will talk to you guys later!
