When I opened my eyes everything was blurred. When everything was in focus, I saw the tree me and Zane sat under and when I turned my head I realized my head was on Zane's lap. I quickly stood up but then started to fall again. Zane got up and caught me just in time.
"Hey you need to take it easy, you've been out for a couple hours." Zane said then leaned me against the tree.
"How come you're not hurt?" I said very confused about everything.
"Well maybe you've learned to control your power." Power! How does he know about that! But then I remembered what happened.
"You must think I'm a monster."
"Actually I think you're the opposite. Sapphire you have been going through this alone and you've tried so hard not hurt anyone. I'm sure it must so hard for you, you haven't hugged anyone in years plus you did everything by yourself. If you call that a monster then you must be really weird." Zane smiled. He's still here after he figured out what I was. I started crying I couldn't help it. "Hey what's wrong?" I quickly wiped my tears.
"Nothing I'm fine."
"You're not fine, why are you scared to cry your not alone." he started coming closer, but I didn't have enough energy to move away. "I'm here for you."
"No! Stop don't come near me you'll get hurt." But Zane hugged me, the first time in three years.
"Sapphire I'm your friend, let me help you." I started crying again and I hugged him back. "See I'm fine Sapphire, you're not hurting me."
"Zane w-why do you keep helping me, I've done nothing for you."
"That's not true, you are greatest friend I could ever ask for. These past weeks have been amazing, not only did you listen to every single thing I told you but you noticed when I was mad about something or when I had stupid problems. You talked to me even if was no more then two or three words, you asked if I was okay and then you would listen. You went out of your comfort zone for me Sapphire. Don't ever say you did nothing for me cause that's not true." His words were so powerful, I felt like I could tell him anything.
"Zane."
"Yeah."
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For buying me ice cream. I never said thank you when you did that." Both him and I started laughing. "Zane if you want you could come to my house for a while, I have an extra room. I now things will be awkward between you and Connor."
"If you don't mind, I was actually thinking about getting a hotel."
"Yeah you can stay as long as you want."
"But what about your dad, he doesn't like me very much."
"Well he should have left around noon earlier today, so if you're already moved in then he'll have no choice."
"He's gonna be mad when he comes back and what about Amy?"
"Amy went with him, apparently it was very important business. What you need to worry about is getting your stuff."
"Okay I have a plan, are you good can you walk?" Zane then let go of me and stood up. When he let go I felt a sudden pain in my chest. He put out his hand offering to help me up. Should I take it, what if my power is back now, what if-. But before I could finish thinking, he grabbed my hand and pulled me up. "You good?"
"Uh. . . yeah, let's go!" still holding on to my hand we ran down the hill.
We arrived at a black metal gate attached to a brick wall.
