China. Germany. Italy. That's my family heritage and where I spent 3 summers, but 1 summer per country. Currently I haven't gone out of the states for 2 years because I am still trying to get over my parents death from a snowboarding accident. Even after that tragedy i still choose to snowboard in their honor. I think i do it to keep a part of them on the snow with me and to keep their legacy alive. My parents are the world renowned Fai and Jackson Walsh. My isn't like others at Monte Green High School. The rich ones which included the popular kids and the jocks, then there was the few to a couple trend setters in the entire school, and lastly the nerds. So basically if you didn't fit into one of these categories then you were a outcast at school. The rich kids had everything they wanted and more. I just wanted my parents back. I can't and won't ever go a day without thinking of them. Fai and Jackson Walsh are my parents, this is my story, I am a snowboarder, I live with my Uncle Robbie. I am Madison Walsh.
So I start my journey on October 17, 2016, where I am a freshman in highschool. I've known at least half of these kids since 6th grade and 5 of them target me because of a reason i'm not exactly sure of, yet it is constantly changing, just like my life in this exact moment. Right now.
So the weather is constantly snowing or near the temperature of 32 degrees F and that means no shorts unless you're crazy enough to wear them, but then that also means that it is always snowboarding season. Speaking of snowboard season, there are multiple mountains in the surrounding area that have snowboarding competitions, that is one of the reasons why my parents moved to Oxford in the first place. With multiple mountains around here I feel that it is time for me to start a snowboarding team at my school.
Here in Oxford my parents are legends and I hope, just one day, to be as good at snowboarding as my parents were. That is my drive to keep pushing myself to greatness, just to have a chance to succeed at something that is in my blood. I am still Maddie Walsh.
