Since we only have 24 people trying out for the snowboard team, we decided to have only one day of tryouts. Uncle Robbie is in charge until we get to the mountain and meet the other coaches. When we first get there we will give them a tour of the lodge and then we will stretch so nothing gets hurt. Then we head out to the mountain for some practice runs. Since 24 people are trying out each of the 3 coaches and myself will take 6 people and assess their skills we split them up based on the order that they signed up in. I would have Ella, Parker, Heather, Blake, Nhyia, and Grace in the gondola with me, since there can only be 8 people per gondola. Each person has a number 1-24 on their stomach and back so we can identify them on the mountain when I am videoing their skills for their tryout.
After the warm-up runs we headed back down near the base where the half pipe was located and since we know some of them have never been on a half pipe before we said we would judge them on 2 things: coach ability and skill level. Coach ability includes your personality, attitude, how you take corrections, determination, and anything else under that umbrella of sorts.
