A Pharaoh's Bride (yugioh: Atem Love Story)

Chapter 22.

Nefertari watched from the balcony as Atem got on Aten along with a few of the guards on their horses and Shada, Karim,Seto were on their's she could't help but try and swallow the lump that had formed in her throat, and the reason for that was because she was scared that something was going to happen to him since he had learned where Bakura and Marik where hiding and he had spent days coming up with a plan to catch them and to day was the day she just wished they had't had a huge fight before he was about to leave, and who could blame her for being scared she loved him and wanted him around to see their children born also Bakura and Marik had been a lot more active than they were before and the danger was even greater she knew that Seto and the other's would keep him safe but still she worried, she snapped out of her thoughts when the gates opened and they started to leave Atem was the last out since he had looked back and up to where she was and then he was gone she closed her eye's letting some tears fall then jumped when Tanis licked her hand she chuckled petting his head a little.

"worried about me boy i'm ok just a little sad but at least i got you with me..and these two" she said once she was straight again, which had gotten harder to do these days she rubbed her very large stomach smiling it was't much longer in till they came out also it was the reason as to why Isis had told her to take easy from ruling saying that Shimon and Aknadin could handle thing's in till the Pharaoh returned because she was worried that to much stress would put her over the top and go into labor early.

She lead Tanis back into the room and grabbed a brush from the table and he sat in front of her so she could brush his fur she enjoyed doing this and it kept her calm, also taking slow walks with him was calming to Mana joined her on those as well and would play with Tanis who enjoyed that someone could run after him and play other time's he liked to rest his head in her lap or come with her when she spent time with Amaunet and Aten, but to day the palace wall's were getting to her because of Bakura and Marik she had been stuck behind them for a while also being queen was the other reason she just wanted to get out from these wall's like when Atem took her riding that time, and see the Nile again and she was't foolish she would't go alone she would have Isis with her and Mana and some guards if it kept other's happy she stopped brushing Tanis and left the room with him following just behind her she was going to tell Shimon and Aknadin about what she would like to do she was sure that they would fuss and worry but she was sure they would go along with it she took a deep breath before she entered the throne room and they both greeted her though they told her that she should be resting and there was no need for her to be here but she said that was't why she had come and she told them what she wanted to do of course she had been right about them worrying but that's when Isis appeared having an other idea that maybe sailing along the Nile would be better and since they would with her then she would be safe she could't help but smile at Isis, who was starting to show a much more rounded waist herself these days and she could't help but some light had come back to her eye's after Mahad's death.

It took a while to get everything they needed but they were soon down at the docks getting onto one of the boats she could't help but feel like it was a palace on water with how grand it was also Mana had come along she was keeping a hold of Tanis, Shimon and Aknadin had stayed behind to keep an eye on thing's it was shame but she knew they were right to do so also they had enough guards with them to keep them safe, and soon they were traveling down the Nile enjoying how peaceful it was.

"i have to thank you for this Isis i really thought that Shimon and Aknadin were going to force me to stay behind the wall's of the palace" she said looking at her.

"it was nothing my queen i thought you might enjoy this more than just seeing the Nile and sitting on the shore and worrying about the Pharaoh even more than you are right now" Isis said.

"it shows that much?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"yes but everyone understands why.. even i worry about things more than used once in a while" she said.

"like what?" she asked.

"meany thing's mostly what my visions show or if i'm going to be a ..." she was cut off by Nefertari taking a hold of her hand and giving a very sweet and kind smile.

"you'll make a great mother Isis and your not really on your own you have me, the Pharaoh the other priests and Mana over there and we all believe that" she said.

"thank you my queen and we believe that about you... and Mahad was right about you" Isis said with a smile.

"right about what?" she asked.

"that you make a great queen and you've shown that in such a short time" Isis said.

"i had a good teacher....Tanis what's the matter boy?" Nefertari asked hearing him growl even Mana could't make out why he was growling like he was.

Both of them looked at each other and got up from where they were (Isis helped her up) and they headed over Mana Tanis calmed down a little when she petted him but he soon went back to growling, and before she could say anything she caught the faint sniff of smoke in the air was that the reason why he was growling like he was because there was danger near by, and soon she was't the only one who could smell it and the guards soon shouted out about what looked like a village but it had been attacked and Tanis's growling went to whining as they got closer and she had to put a hand to her mouth when they spotted some bodies along the shore line she told the guards to stop the boat and they stopped and soon the plank was down Isis told her that it was dangerous and to stay on the boat with Mana and Tanis and a few guards and she asked about her but she said she would be alright and she would be back soon, she watched Isis leave with some of the guards and she hoped that she found something that would tell them what happened here though she had a good guess as to who was behind it and she hoped that she would come across some people that had survived this because to meany people had been lost already.
