Chapter 2
Halliot POV
*Saturday Morning, 10:00 am*
After everyone had finally been picked up or gone home, I lie back on my bed and frown. Had that been a good sleepover or was it ruined towards the end of last night. I groan as I remember that it’s Sunday and I have to clean my guinea pigs’ cage. Ivy and I both own one guinea pig, both females. Mine’s called Caramel and she’s of this same colour with some black and white spots, while Ivy’s is completely white with only one honey coloured spot on her eye. Her name is Superpony. God knows why Ivy put her such an absurd name.
“Ivy, we have to do the guinea pigs’ cage!” I yelled sticking my head outside my bedroom’s door.
No answer.
“Ivy, come here NOW. I don’t care if you’re in the middle of playing with your ponies!”
Still no response.
“Ivy?!” I asked, worried now. I fast-walked into her bedroom and looked around. Ponies were scattered on her pink carpet, but Ivy wasn’t there playing with them.
“Ivy? IVY?!” I began screaming around all over the house, searching for her. The last place I checked was the front yard, and after seeing she wasn’t there either… I kinda panicked.
“Mom, Ivy’s not here!” I scream worriedly. Mom looks relaxed, too relaxed. “Honey, she’s playing in the front yard with her blue sparkle pony, apparently she’s going on a unicorn hunt.” Mom chuckled.
“No, she’s not, I checked there already!” I yelled, feeling tears running down my hot cheeks.
“Come on sweetie she’s somewhere, let’s go check,” Mom said calmly abandoning her cooking project to help me search the yard.
I ran to the front yard whilst she just walked relaxed like nothing was wrong.
Alessa POV (Mother)
“Ivy?” I called, my voice sounding nervous as I realized that Ivy wasn’t anywhere in sight. I looked at Halliot who was biting her lips, tears prickling in her eyes and I realized that she was right.
“Call the police Halliot!” I said, shocked.
She ran like lightning to the kitchen phone.
“Oh my god…” I whispered. “Ivy…” I felt a tear run down my cheek.
It would be ok, she probably wandered off somewhere and got lost or something. They’d find her soon, I was overreacting.
I try to reassure myself, but as a mother, it’s my instinct to worry.
My hands tremble as I walk back to the house.
Brielle POV
I got home, exhausted. I jumped on my bed, that had recently changed sheets. I suddenly remembered that I had Math homework.
This sucks.
Just as I was getting my Math stuff out, I receive a call.
I see it’s from Halliot.
“What’s up?” I ask as I answer.
“Brielle… come over to my house right now. It’s an emergency. Call the others,” she says in a trembling voice.
Oh no.
I think this is serious.
