Chapter 3
Jaxon POV
Something seemed strange about the little girl who was pulled into the alleyway behind that neighbourhood. I heard two voices and they sounded young and muffled, barely heard. I know I heard them though - I’m not a demented person imagining things.
I pedaled around the corner, but when I got there the voices’ owners were gone.
I did see a car driving off, though…
It was close enough for me to see in a few instants just what I probably needed to see.
I could see that there were two little girls in the car and an adult man. I only could see the girls’ backs, but I could distinguish that one had straight blonde hair that was long, and the other had blonde curls. They were both blindfolded, the blindfolds could be seen because they were attached to their heads (no really Jaxon?) and passed behind them. They were black and probably made of some kind of stretchy cloth or material.
This smells fishy…
I continued pedalling. After not so much time I came across something that raised my suspicions even more. A front yard full of cops, a family of two crying their eyes out.
I hid behind a bush and listened.
“...What do you want, young lady?”
“Um, well, I was wondering… You said there have already been two kidnaps?”
“Affirmative. The other girl was about the age of this last one, and she didn’t live very far away from your house. The kidnap was only today, at 8 am. The other two siblings are on their way here, too. They think they know better than we do and that they can find the kidnapper,”
The conversation ended and I looked up to see who was talking. It was a 14-year-old girl or so. She had ginger medium length hair, which was straight. Emerald green eyes with golden chips in them. Tall and slim, but in a healthy way. Some freckles as well.
There was one other girl, one that was probably in the family of the kid that had disappeared, because she was crying. Her hair was brown and only falling until her shoulders. Her eyes were honey coloured, and probably about my age.
I felt sad for the family. Especially for the girl. I don’t know why…
Suddenly, her head shot up like she could feel me staring at her, and she looked in my direction. I ducked again behind the bushes and hoped she hadn’t seen me. I didn’t want her to. It would’ve been weird, a complete stranger just looking at her.
I looked back up after a while. The place had cleared up a bit, with only a few cops. But there were more ‘teens’ there now.
There were four other girls now, and one boy. The boy and the girl standing beside him must have been the siblings of the other girl that had disappeared. They were talking, almost arguing. It seemed like the girl next to the boy was a bit stressed, or at least worried.
Nah, don’t lie to yourself, Jaxon.
She was worried sick.
To be more safe of not being caught staring, I ducked again and tried to find a whole in the bush to look through. I found one straight away and peered through it.
Halliot POV
I knew there was someone watching me, I saw something in the bushes - It doesn’t really matter right now though, or does it? I don’t know where Ivy is but… when they mentioned the possibility of her being kidnapped… I don’t know what to say. I’m standing with Hazel, Allina, Cloeh, and Brielle and were all trying to find out what’s really happened. I’m not really in the mood for a detective game and Allina keeps saying we have to find a clue. I know she’s trying to help but… I don’t think this is something she can handle. It’s a kidnapping not a guessing game. Yeah, she has a talent with assumptions and deducting but… Ivy’s gone! What if I don’t see her again? What if she was killed?
