Carrie's POV

"Well hel... Jake? What are you doing here??"

"Chill out baby... Chris is one of my best friends remember?"

"Oh right, I guess I forgot that..."

"And I loved the idea because I knew you were coming and that way we could hang a little... you know, maybe get upstairs, to the bedroom..."

"Never. In. Your. Wildest. Dreams." I started to walk away and I heard him shout.

"Carrie, wait!"

"What now?"

"Well I understand you might say no to this but... at least, can we talk to each other? I would love to get to know you better"

No freaking way. Jake was actually saying we wanted to know me. Jake Collins, THE Jake Collins. I was not going to fall under his spell. I looked at Allie and Alana and seemed to be having fun with their boyfriends. I was definitely not going to be the third weel. Oh screw it!

"Ugh, well they are having fun so... I guess 5 minutes with you won't kill"

"Great! But let's go to a quieter place... Upstairs to the bedroom?"

"Just to talk, remember?"

"Yes, just to talk! I promise!"

We got up the stairs and Alana noticed, giving me a 'be careful' look. I sat on the bed and he sat next to me.

"Let's play a game" he suggested

"A game?"

"Yes, it is called 20 questions. We have to ask each other 20 questions"

"Ok..."

"I'll start. What is your dream house?"

"My dream house... is huge, with at least three rooms only for myself"

"What do you need three rooms for?"

"Well, girls stuff. One for sleeping, another one for shoes and another one for makeup and nails and accessories. That makes it three."

The conversation went on for what it seemed about half an hour, until someone knocked at the door.

"Carrie? We've been looking for you!" Allie yelled.

"I'm sorry, I was just talking to Jake"

"Yeah... for like 2 hours! Let's go! My father will be pissed!" I looked at the clock, and she was right. Jake actually seemed like a nice guy, when he wasn't being a jerk.

We were already in Jake's car when Allie mentioned "Carrie, I am sorry but can Jace drop me at my house first? You know how my father is strict and I really need to be home first"

"Sure, no problem. I'll just text my mom I'm already coming home" And I did. After some time, Allie was home. She kissed Jace and went inside. I moved to the front seat, next to Jace, who was driving.

"So, Carrie. We had never had some time alone, had we?"

"I guess not..."

"Yeah, Allie keeps getting in our way" What??

"I'm sorry, what are you talking about?"

"Well, you know... for our friendship to develop, we need to have some time alone, to talk to each other"

"Oh, sure! I am sorry, I thought you meant something else. Silly me, you are dating Allie, right?" I smiled at him

"Well yeah sure, I kinda am dating Allie... But I feel like I actually have feelings for someone else"

"Really? Be honest with her, please. I don't want her to get hurt."

"Yes... Oh, we're here!"

"Thank you for the ride"

"Do you want me to walk you at the door?"

"Uh... sure, I guess."

"Great. So as I was saying, my feelings for Allie are more of a friend's... I have deep feelings for this other girl, she is so sweet, she's my idea of the perfect girl. When she smiles, my world lights up. When she looks at me, I just get hipnotyzed by her eyes. She's confident but humble at the same time. She's girly but strong, all at once. I think she might be 'the one' " We stopped at my front door, and I looked at him, not knowing what to say. I thought Jace and Allie's romance was so true. The way she always talked to me about him, she really likes him. Oh God, my best friend is going to be so broken!

"The worst thing you can do is lie to her, Jace. I think you should clear everything up. She is my best friend, and I know she is going to be crushed, but I also know that it is the best for both of you to be honest, that way you can both be happy and..."

He cut me off with a kiss. What??? I opened my eyes in shock. Jace's lips were pressed in mine, and I... just kissed him back. What? I was kissing him back? His tongue slowly entered my mouth and both of our tongues danced together. My heart started beating fast. But then I realized: I was kissing Allie's boyfriend! Oh my God, what kind of a best friend am I? I stopped and opened the house door.

"Carrie! Where are you going?"

I shut the door in his face. What had just happened?

"Hi darling, you're home!" my mom said.

"O-oh, hi mom."

"What's wrong? How was the party?"

"It was great, and I am tired. I am gonna go to bed. Can we speak tomorrow?"

"Sure, sleep well"

I went upstairs to my room and sat on my bed. What was this? Jace kissed me. All that talk, was he speaking about me? Jace has feelings for me. My best friend's boyfriend has feelings for me. But more importantly, do I have feelings for Jace? When we kissed, my heart beat so fast, I couldn't control it. All this time, I have thought of him as unavailable, as Allie's boyfriend. Allie! How am I going to tell her any of this? Ugh, I need to sleep. I laid on my bed and covered myself. I needed to get away from these crazy thoughts.

The next morning I woke up at lunch time, when my mom called me. I quickly dressed myself with jeans and a white t-shirt that said 'Girly' on it.

"I'm going!" I told her.

"The food is going to be cold!"

"I know, I'm going!"

I sat at the table, looking at the food in front of me. I was starving. And my mother's delicious chicken just made me hungrier. I took a piece on my plate and my mom spoke.

"So, you didn't tell me how your party went last night"

"Oh, it was great. Allie met Alana, and they got along. You remember Alana, right?"

"Oh, that girl you used to be friends with?"

"Yes. And I spoke with this boy named Jake. He's the popular/arrogant type but once you get to know him, he's actually kind of sweet."

"Those are the worst, don't fall for his kindness, it's all fake."

"Yes, I know. It's not like I'm gonna fall in love with him or anything"

I finished my lunch and went upstairs to finish my outfit. I added my pink heels that match with my shirt and put on some light makeup. I braided all my hair.

When I was about to go down the stairs, my phone started ringing. Who might it be? On the screen, there was a name: Allie.
