Maybe he can change

Chapter 1

Carrie's POV

The alarm woke me up at 7.30am. I groaned and got up. I got a shower and put on black skinny jeans, a pink top and my pink high heels, and braided a section of my hair. Just before I left home, I decided to go on my facebook account.

I logged in and noticed Jake Collins had sent me a friend request. Jake was cute. He had brown hair and brown eyes, along with his contagious smile, but the minute he walked in, he fit in pretty quickly. I guess the 'hunters' decided they needed another member. That group was nothing but trouble. They were known for being heart-breakers. They used girls, telling them how much they 'loved' them, just to get in their pants. Once they weren't useful anymore, they would throw them away like they were nothing. They liked the hunt. It was composed by 3 boys, better yet, 3 players: Kyle Russel, Chris Carter and Scott Watson. Well, now there were 4 of them. I accepted the request and closed the computer. I was already late, so I ran off the stairs but my mom stopped me.

"You forgot your lunch kid!" she said.

"Oh, right. Thanks mom" I answered.

"Have a nice day!" she wished. My mom has always been the caring type. I guess she wanted to make it up for leaving my father, who I love a lot.

I walked a lot, and got there 5 minutes late. All seats were already taken, except one, next to Jake. I groaned and sat down, and Jake whispered "Good morning beautiful".

"Carrie, please. Oh, and good morning to you too", I responded.

"Hey, don't be so harsh on me baby"

"Don't call me that. And don't try to play me into your stupid conquering games."

"I don't know what you're talking about..." he smiled and winked at me.

"Ugh, get lost!" I snapped. The bell rang and I realised I didn't pay any attention to my English class because of that jerk.

After we got out, I went to keep my books in my locker and got a text from by best friend Allie to meet her at the parking lot after school.

When I got there, she instantly hugged me.

"I've missed you Carrie!" Allie has been sick for a few days and we haven't had a chance to see each other, but gladly she got better.

"I've missed you too Allie! How are you?"

"Better I guess... Jace just texted me,he said he wanted to hang out tonight" Oh, Jace. He has been Allie's crush since I can remember, and they've been getting along pretty well. He's a good guy and they actually look good together.

"I thought we had Chris' party to go to tonight!"

"Yeah, I know... Can we at least bring him along?" she begged.

"Fine... Who's picking us up?"

"I don't know, maybe I can ask Jace. Since he's coming with us, the least he can do is driving us to the party"

"Oh, I'm going to go home now. I still need to change. See you later!"

"Bye Carrie!"

I walked home. When I got there, my mom was in the living room watching a movie.

"Hey honey, how was school?"

"Nothing much, just the usual..."

"Do you want to join me? I'm watching Harry Potter" she invited.

"Hmm, no. I have to get dressed for this party tonight. I hope you don't mind."

"Sure, yell if you need anything" she smiled.

I got upstairs and changed. I was now wearing a black dress with golden sparkles and black pumps. My hair was loose and my makeup was kinda heavy but not too much. I sat on my bed and opened the computer. A few seconds later I heard the door bell: that must be Allie. I went downstairs to open the door but my mom had already done that. Allie had dark jeans and a black top, with dark blue high heels and jacket. Her hair was up. They were chatting when I interrupted.

"Hi Allie, I was just waiting for you"

"Hi Carrie, Jace is outside, waiting" she said and then smiled at my mom.

"Behave children!" my mom warned. We laughed and left.
