Carrie's POV

He didn't answer. Instead, he smirked at me at continued to speak to my mother as if nothing strange was happening. He found my hand, the one lying on my lap, and grabbed it. My eyes widened at his action.

"Are you ok Carrie?" my mother inquired, concerned.

"Um... Yeah, I'm just... um... not feeling well. If you excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom." And I left. I refreshed my face and headed to my bedroom. I adjusted my makeup and walked to the door, or I thought. When I turned back, I saw Jake, standing at my door.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Me? Nothing, I was just worried about you. So I finished my dinner as soon as possible and came to check if you were ok."

"Of course I am ok! What was that in there? Why did you grab my hand?"

"I didn't grab your hand." he protested.

"Yes, you did. Why would you do that?" I saw his face starting to get angry as he started to slowly step towards me, while I took every step back.

"I did not. And stop contradicting me!" What? Was he seriously lying to me in my face? I frowned at him. "Fine! I did it because I wanted to touch you. I felt like it, and that's something you should get used to about me: I do whatever I feel like doing and others just obey to what I say. And why? Because I've got it all. I am handsome, rich and every girl in high school wants me." After this, I had nowhere to move. I was cornered in my own room.

"Well yeah? First, you are not that big of a deal. Second, your wealth is not getting you anywhere with that attitude. Third, those girls are noting but sluts who are just trying to sleep with you and you should really think about getting a real girlfriend who makes you fall in love with her so hard, you would change yourself for her. Someone different, someone who makes your heart stop when you look at her and specially, someone who doesn't flirt with you all the time!" He reached his hand to the wall and stared at me intently in the eye. Our lips were 5 inches away from connecting.

"What? Someone like you??" And with that he leaned closer and brushed his lips on mine, suddently pressing them against me. His hands grabbed my waist and mine went up to his neck. I lost myself in this kiss. Our lips moved in synchronization and he entered my mouth sensually. Our grips thightened like neither of us wanted it to end. I thought I didn't want this but my heart said otherwise. It was beating fast, empowering the kiss with passion and warmth.

Once he pulled away, he turned around and his hand grabbed his hair, looking confused. "I... I have to go." he stated and left, closing the door behind him.

The next day was calm, beside my constant thinking about the kiss with Jake. I avoided talking too much to Allie, or even Jace, since I knew I would spill it all out. The most strange part was passing through the hallways and facing Jake as he looked away. But I didn't bother thinking about that. After the final class, I went home.

"Hi mom" I greeted, hugging her.

"Hi honey, how are you?"

"Good. Well, actually I am hungry. I'll go make something." I informed. I went to the kitchen and she followed me. I took the bread out and the peanut butter and started eating.

"So, what did you think about last night's dinner?" my mom asked, I coffed and soon answered.

"Uhm... It was fine... Jake's parents are very lovely. I must ask you back, what did you think about last night?"

"I loved it, me and Katty have a lot in common, and her husband is a very fun company. And their daughter is just so sweet! Carrie... I want to ask you something."

"Sure, spill it."

"Yesterday, we were talking and we agreed to go on a trip this weekend. But of course their children and you cannot come. So after a lot of thinking Katty just thought 'hey, why don't our kids get together at my place and babysit Desi?'"

"What? Mom! No! A whole weekend in Jake's house?"

"Yes, please, do it for me. And I also think you and Jake should get along more often, he's a good influence on you." I tried my best no to laugh in her face as I knew that was the worst lie someone had ever told me.

Jake's POV

After I kissed the freak, I walked away. I don't know what has gotten into me, first  I grab her hand almost as an instinct and then I kiss her? I wanted to touch her. I want to touch her everytime I am with her. She's really not my type, I don't know where this is taking me, I just can't stop thinking about her!

"Jake! What are you thinking about?" Scott yelled at me. "Check out that girl, I know she's your style, blonde hair, blue eyes, and look at that body... Now that's hot" He winked at me, after referring to the girl alone in the other table.

I was now at Sam's pub with Kyle, Chris and Scott since I was desperate to eat something. Scott's the craziest of our group, Chris is the party thrower who knows everybody, and Kyle's the quietest with the 'pretty cute smile that conquers any girl' as they would say. And me? Well, I'm just me. I live in a normal family, with responsible parents and the cutest little sister, only a bit annoying from time to time. My parents work very hard during the day to provide us the best while Desi stays with Martha, her (used to be mine) nanny. I wonder what Carrie thought of Desi as I know much she loves babies. And here I am thinking about the black haired freak again! Scott's right, I should take a look at the blonde over there. She may be just the right solution to my problems.

"Yeah, I know, right?" the girl accidentally looked in our direction and I smiled at her, winking as she smirked as well. She got up, grabbed her bag and payed her bill. She came up to our table before leaving and left a small note in front of me with a wink. As she walked away, you could see her hips swaying inside her thight dark blue navy dress as she walked on her huge high heeled shoes. Written in the note, there was her number along with 'Text me bad boy;)'.

"Looks like you got lucky 'bad boy'!" Chris mentioned while everyone laughed.

When I got home, I sat on the couch, zapping through the channels on my TV, and texted the cute blue-eyed girl.

'Hi gorgeous. I'm Jake Collins. The guy you left a note with at Sam's pub :)'

'Oh, hi Jake. I'm Melanie, but everyone calls me Mel.'

'Very pleased to meet you Mel. So, how have you been doing?'

'Not fine... My ex-boyfriend dumped me and I'm sad :'('

JACKPOT. This is definitely going to make me forget about Carrie.

'Oh really? What happened? :('

'I messed up and he broke up with me! But I was drunk, you know? It shouldn't count!'

'Oh, such a shame... Who would dare breaking up with such a beautiful face? I just love the color of your eyes'

'Oh, I'm not that pretty...'

'Yes, you are. I'll tell you what: my friend is having a party tomorrow night at his house. I'll text you the adress later if you agree to join me. I think I might just know the cure to your sadness ;)' Chris is going to kill me for this.

'Sure, text me later then'

Chris picked up at the third ring. "Chris, hey... What about having a party tomorrow night and inviting the cute blonde from the pub?"

"Are you insane? In such short notice?!"

"Please please please?"

I heard him sighing "Fine... I'll do what I can but I won't promise anything."
