Evil Queen"Mirror, Mirror on the wall. Who's the fairest of them all?" I asked, smiling, knowing that the answer would no doubt be me now that Snow White was six-feet underground. Magic Mirror rolled her eyes and the book once again appeared in her hand. She flipped it open and smiled slightly.
"Oh my Queen, as fair as thou be, Snow White is still fairer than thee." She smirked. I felt my face grow hot in anger.
"What?! How is that possible? I killed her!" I snarled.
"Well unless there is another girl named Snow White who is prettier than you, your plan failed." Magic Mirror said simply. I growled and turned to leave.
I would kill Snow White if it was the last thing I do.
Sophie
"Are you okay?"
I jumped, startled, and whirled around. Will was standing there, looking absolutely terrified. I smiled a little. "I'm fine, Will." I felt my waist a bit. "Just a little bruised."
He smiled and I thought it made him look adorable. Wait, no. Don't think about that right now. It's not the time. We both stood in silence for a moment.
"So, what are you making?" Will asked me, motioning to the stove behind me.
"Oh, I'm making soup." I said, turning to stir the pot once more and add a few more things.
"Oh. Cool." It was quiet once again.
"Um, Will?" I said timidly.
"Yeah?" He asked me.
"Um, I was wondering if you would like to stay for dinner."
Will smiled at me and it was so infectious that I couldn't help but smile back. "I'd love to!" He squeaked then cleared his throat and said, "I mean, yeah, that sounds cool."
I giggled and turned back to the soup. "Great, then you can help me set the table."
"Set the what?" Will asked.
"The table." I pointed to the long wooden structure and the bowls and silverware I set out. "Don't tell me that the big, bad wizard doesn't know how to set a table." I teased.
Will scoffed. "Of course I know how to set a table. What do you take me for? An idiot?"
I shrugged and Will stalked over to the dishes and began placing them on the table. After helping him a few times and finally finishing the soup, I poured it into all nine bowls just as the door slammed shut.
"Snow White! We're-who are you?" It was Hannah. She was staring at Will as he filled one of the cups with water.
"I'm Will." He smiled at her. She didn't smile back, which was odd for her. Instead she just the looked back and forth between the two of us. By now, the other six kids had joined us in the dining room.
"He's a friend of mine." Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Will frown. The kids didn't seem to happy either. "Moving on! Dinner!"
Doc aka Daniel
I sat down at the table, eyeing Will warily. Two thoughts ran through my head. One was that he was actually the Evil Queen, now in a different disguise. After all, it's not exactly like Snow White had time to make friends as she ran from the murderous Evil Queen. My second was that he was some sort of prince or just a guy that spotted her and decided to try and court her and take her away from us. I hated the second one more than the first. Snow White was the first parental figure my siblings and I have had in years. We were just getting used to it. If she was taken away from us...
"So, Will," Giles said with barely contained dislike, "What brings you to our humble home?"
Will looked at Snow White, which angered me more, and said "Um, I heard about what happened to Snow here," He motioned to Snow White. I glared at my soup when he said the nickname, "and I decided to visit to make sure she was alright."
"How do you know her?" Hannah interrogated, her usual smile gone from her face.
"We met." Will said simply, "through interesting circumstances."
"What type of interesting circumstances?" For once, Becca didn't look at all shy. Instead she was glaring fiercely at Will. He noticed this and immediately looked very scared. I smirked slightly at this.
"Let's just say I got her into quite a pickle and now I'm trying to help her get out of it." Will chuckled nervously.
"Now? This wouldn't have to do with the Evil Queen, would it? Are you the person who caused her to go on a killing spree for Snow White?" Sammy asked angrily.
"No! What? Of course not!" Will spluttered.
"Then why are you here? To take her away from us? To have her leave us all alone like our parents did?!" I shouted, standing so abruptly that my soup spilled.
"That's enough!" Snow White shouted, also standing. Everyone quieted and looked at her. "You seven, off to bed." I almost protested, but the look in her eye told me not to. I grudgingly pushed back my chair and started making my way upstairs, glaring at Will as I passed him, followed by my siblings. We quietly went into our room and the girls went to go get dressed as the boys started dressing in the room.
"I'm sorry about that." I heard Snow White say, probably to Will.
"It's okay." I heard him say. "Your important to them, Snow. After tonight, there is no doubt about it." He chuckled a bit.
"Goodnight Will." Snow White said.
"Goodnight." I heard the door slam shut. I brushed my teeth quickly and got in bed, along with my siblings and blew out the candle that lit up the room. A good number of minutes later, I still found that I couldn't fall asleep. I heard the steps creaking and the door open. I quickly closed my eyes and heard some others moving around in their beds, indicating that they were also awake.
I heard Snow White sigh. She walked to each bed, probably checking if we were asleep. My cheeks warmed a bit when I felt her soft lips on my forehead. It brought me back to a time when my mom would do that late at night. Snow White pulled away. I heard linger by the doorframe for a little while before whispering. "I promise that I'm not going anywhere." Then I heard the door creak shut.
I opened my eyes and sat up in bed, looking at my siblings who all had dazed smiles on their faces. "I hope she never leaves." Hannah said quietly.
"Me too." I told her.
"Goodnight you guys."
"Goodnight." Said a chorus of voices.
Finally, I drifted off to sleep.
Aaaaaand scene. I seriously can't believe it's been 6 months since I updated. I am really sorry, but I thought this chapter was super cute!!!! Protective little kids are always so cute. Granted, these little kids are also preteens and (one) teenager, but stilllllll. Anyway, I updating today, May 8, 2017. You're welcome ;)
