Chapter 9

Y/N POV

I started walking to aunt Selina's house from school. I spent all lunch crying outside, I really don't want to leave Ivy and Harley! They are all I have. I remember when they told me the story of how they first found me.

*It was march 16 and Ivy and Harley just ran into a alleyway to get away from some police. "Hurry up Harley" Ivy called creating some vines to take them away. I heard a small cry coming from a dumpster. "Wait Ivy did ya hear that"? Harley asked heading towards the dumpster, "no" Ivy said sternly following Harley towards the dumpster. They looked over it for a while until Ivy found something "Harles"... she said slowly. "Did ya find something red"? Harley asked running over to her. Ivy picked up a newborn baby wrapped in old cloth. "She can't be older than a few weeks" Ivy said cradling the sobbing baby in her arms. "Who could be so cruel" Harley said wiping a tear away from her face. "Can we keep her red"? She asked. Ivy looked down into the baby's e/c eyes. The small child giggled looking up at the two ladies. "Sure..."*

A sound of a metal bar hitting the ground pulled me out of my thoughts. I looked up at the old building in front of me and I saw the edges of robins cape. What the heck is he doing? Does he know I'm mist???? I decided to keep waking like I didn't notice maybe if I kept going he would go away?

A magical time skip! Oooooooh so magical!

Ok I'm almost near Selina's apartment. All I need to do is cross this street. I began to cross the road completely lost in thought. So lost I didn't hear the screeching sounds of a car coming straight for me.....

Robins POV
Right after school I quickly changed into robin and went after y/n. I know it's wrong to be spying on her but I don't know anything about her! She was crossing the street when a vehicle came speeding up toward her. "Y/N"!! I cried jumping off the building using my grappling hook to swing to the next building. I grabbed y/n right off the street before she became road mush. Once we landed on the building I put her on the ground, she stood there staring into my mask. "Hey are you ok"? I asked. Tears swelled up in her eyes.

"Why are you following me"?! She yelled backing away a few steps. She knew?? Dang. "Umm I wasn't I am onnnnn patrol and I saw you almost get run over by a car. Your welcome" I lied crossing my arms. She glared at me walking backwards. "Clearly your not feeling the aster". Her eyes widened and she gasped. Oh crap!!! I say aster to her all the time oh no no no no no no no no no. "Dick" she said, she was crying! "Hey calm down, who is dick"? I asked walking over to her to comfort y/n.
Y/N sat on top of the building crying into her legs. "Are you ok"? I asked putting a hand on my shoulder, which she slapped away. "Dicky I know it's you" she sniffed "don't lie". I sighed and sat next to her. "sorry" was my only response. Suddenly she got up and walked over to the edge of the building, she turned back to face me her e/c eyes glowing with rage and tears. I feel almost scared of her glare! "See ya bird boy" she said in a way that felt so familiar but I couldn't put a finger on it. Then y/n jumped off the building!! "Y/N" I screamed running to the edge of the building to see nothing. She is gone.

I walked over to her backpack that she left of the building. Carefully I unzipped it "well maybe I'll learn more about her" I mumbled. There was a photo I pulled it out it was a beautiful picture of her and Poison Ivy!!!!!! Suddenly I headed ticking, I looked back into the backpack to see an activated joker bomb!!! "Ahh fu•k" I yelled running and jumping off the building just before it exploded. The joker, poison ivy, that voice, it was clear to me now that y/n was Mist. I sighed, I need to take her down. She is to dangerous knowing my identity and working with the bad guys.

I sat in my room looking at the photo of
y/n and Ivy. Why did she have to be evil? I really liked her. I was going to ask her to the dance coming up... but now I have to go after her. I wiped a tear away from my eye. "why does life have to be this way" I said sitting on my bed. Just then my phone went off.

Y/N: glad to see your not dead yet birdy.

Dick: how could you!!! I almost died. Y/N you will be brought to justice

Y/N: sorry dick. It's not your fault. But family comes first, you won't see me for a while and don't bother tracing my text because I'm ditching my phone in an alley. Bye

That night I cried myself to sleep.
