WE PULLED UP into the view of a sign that said, "Beacon Hills Preserve" with a smaller sign underneath that read, "No Entry After Dark." My heart jumped at the thought of going into the cold and damp woods at this time with the possibility of a killer inside. I shook my head, knowing this would be one of the stupidest decisions I've made.

"Guys, do we really have to go?" I pleaded, poking my head in between the front seats. They looked back and forth at each other before Stiles hopped out of the car and Scott followed. "Okay, great. That answers my question perfectly!" I sarcastically remarked and could see a smiling Stiles look back at me.

"Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" Scott asked as we trudged through the forest, ducking under branches.

"Huh! I didn't even think about that." Stiles spoke dumbfounded, stopping quickly before he started walking again.

"And, uh, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?" Scott had questioned, with a smile painted on his face. It seemed as though he wasn't really surprised about his friend's lack of thought towards this simple stuff.

"Also something I didn't think about." He answered, while we all started climbing up a small hill of dirt, mud, and leaves.

"So, you mean to tell me that I'm in the woods–at night–with you two and this hasn't been even been fully thought through?" I huffed, accidentally stepping into a small spot of mud. My foot slipped inwards and I groaned at the mess it made.

"Yeah, Stiles. It's - comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail." He added, joking around while looking back at me. He chuckled at my disgusted look on my face as I continued walking anyways. But I had noticed the last few words that slipped out of his mouth more than the others. It seemed that I was correct about how common the buzzcut brunette had kept small attention to certain details.

"I know." He grunted, pulling his way all the way up the hill. Scott had done so as well but stopped to lean next to a tree. He had been short of breath but continued to speak anyways has he reached his hand into his pocket.

"Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight, huh?" He spoke, using his inhaler as I remember watching Macey use hers. She had only needed it when she was younger, but the memories were engraved into my brain.

"Come on!" Was all I could hear as my attention snapped back to reality. I looked to see the two boys laying on the ground, looking into the distance. Well, they were until Stiles jumped up and started darting through the forest. I had noticed flashlights pointed in our direction from the distance and I ducked down.

"Stiles!" Scott screamed out, but in a much quieter tone. I followed behind Scott quickly as he tried to make his way to Stiles. We had tried our best to stay by his side but I could see the officer right behind him. Scott quickly slipped behind a tree and peeked his head out as I did found a way to do the same.

He had turned around in pure shock and horror as the police dog barked rapidly at him. "Stay right there!" The officer screamed as we both hid behind the tree the best we could.

"Hang on, hang on, this little delinquent belongs to me." Another officer spoke and my interest sparked as I peeked out from behind the tree once again.

"Dad, how are you doing?" Stiles questioned, already knowing he was in some sort of trouble. He was keeping his hand in front of his eyes due to the sudden flashlight being pointed at his face. I couldn't help but chuckle as his dad rolled his eyes, demanding to take him home.

"You should probably go home too." Scott whispered. I looked at him with a shocked expression and he shot me back a confused one. "What?" He questioned.

"One, I can't leave with them because Stiles will get in a hell of a lot of trouble. Two, I'm leaving you alone in the woods." I whispered but much louder than Scott, for the full effect.

"Fine." He huffed as the officers pulled away, taking the buzz headed brunette with them. I kinda wished we had all been caught and taken home. I really didn't want to be walking around aimlessly through a wooded area at night. But yet, I'm still doing it yesterday and Scott looked like he was on a mission.

"We're going back, right?" I almost stated, hoping he'd get the message. He looked back at me quickly before searching around.

"Yeah, absolutely." He mumbled as the crunch of leaves breaking was taking up the rest of my hearing. It was a constant noice until something crazy had happened. A huge heard of deer had ran out, causing Scott to drop his inhaler and fall to the ground. I had been further behind, hiding behind a tree instead of doing the same as Scott. I had looked as they all darted in the opposite direction of where they came from, my heart feeling as if it sunk to my stomach.

"Scott!" I screamed, barley above a whisper, as he quickly fixed himself and started looking for his inhaler. I hadn't noticed exactly where it went, but that was the least of my worries right now. "Scott!" I called out once again, louder this time; feeling the to get a little bit closer. I had known that deer only typically do stuff like that when they had a prey much stronger than them, willing to kill. We were in trouble and Scott couldn't realize that quick enough. Maybe I should've gone with Stiles. I huffed as Scott screamed, flipping over and rolling down  the hill we climbed up before. I wanted to come closer, but something had felt very wrong, dark and full of doom.

I noticed that Scott had gotten back up from behind a fallen tree, coming back in my direction. Until I had heard a low growl and lit hearts both dropped as fear pushed through me. I maneuvered myself, knowing that I didn't have any way to fight this if I needed to. Neither did Scott and he looks like the meal tonight. I knew I should try and help him out of this situation, but that would only put the both of us in danger. It's a risky move and I knew it. I had felt selfish for not pushing through my fear and helping, but I knew what would be best. I would be able to contact the police or the hospital if I needed to.

But it already noticed me too.

It had ran out, leaping at Scott as he screamed in fear. I covered my mouth quickly, letting at a squeal and running as fast as I knew my legs could take me. Scott screamed again, but it was different this time, he was in pain. I turned around to see him running in the same direction as me.

The beast looked straight towards me, staring, before it ran off into the woods. I had noticed Scott was feet in front of me as I followed quickly behind him. We came to a road and a red vehicle came zooming out, as a continuous look of sheer panic shown on our faces. It swerved quickly and continued driving, while causing Scott and I to let out a breath we were holding.

"What the hell was that?" He screeched, taking a deep breath in between his words and holding onto his side.

"I have no idea." I blatantly stated, thinking of other thoughts to myself. That was not a regular animal, at all.
