I HAD WOKEN up in the safety of my own bed, well- Alicia's- and had groaned at the pain of my aching body. I wasn't used to moving at such a fast pace and now my muscles couldn't be any more tender.
My eyes then glanced towards the shrieking alarm, groaning as I slammed down on the snooze button. My body tensed as I tried to pull up out of the bed, successfully doing so and preparing to get ready. Just like every other teen, I hadn't been all that excited to go to school- especially a different one. But, I had a couple friends that I already knew and made me more at ease.
Although, every time I started to think too much, my mind had kept going back to last night. The creature came at Scott, but completely pushed me aside as if it didn't want to hurt me- yet. I couldn't imagine a rabid animal doing something like that and the fact that it occurred, horrified me.
Suddenly, I jumped as I heard a trio of knocks on the wooden door of the room. "Come in." I spoke, loud enough that it could be heard as I sat back down on the bed.
The door had opened slowly as my somewhat brunette aunt had appeared with a big smile written on her face. "You look more excited than I do." I chuckled, feeling as though I hadn't wanted to get out of the comfort of the bed.
"It's your first day! I feel like an excited parent- again." She smiled as I winced at the 'again' she had added at the end. But it warmed my heart at how eager she was to see me leave for my first day. Of course- I may have not been excited, but this made it much better.
"Anyways," she started, smile still lasting on her kind face. "I had made breakfast with Nick, so you can come downstairs whenever and eat some before you leave." She finished, turning and shutting the door as she left the room. I had looked over at the clothes laying in the corner, putting them on reluctantly. I hadn't
checked whether or not I would like the outfit or if they would fit me correctly. But under the circumstances, it will have to do. After all, I didn't have much time to do make sure in between. In fact, the room still had boxes scattered everywhere of trinkets and clothes I hadn't put away yet. It was something that I had dreaded finishing now, leaving me to believe they might stay there for a little while.Although, looking at the clothes now on my body; they had fit properly and actually felt quite comfortable. My hand then gripped the brush, picking it up and running it through my hair a few times before heading downstairs. Once I did, I had found the cute couple sitting together at the round wooden table. "You guys are adorable." I interrupted, sitting down and picking up the fork next to the colorful plate. They chuckled and thanked me awkwardly as I continued happily eating the food in front of me. "Also," I started as both of their heads perked up and looked towards me. I chuckled, finishing my sentence with a nice compliment about the taste of the food.
With my mom, the luxury of having nice meals wasn't typically a thing. Cooking wasn't a specialty of mine and since my mom was normally out at work, it never really worked out. "Thanks for the meal you two." I nodded, swinging the backpack onto my right shoulder and started towards the door.
"Wait!" Aunt Kristine called out as she pulled out a cute little camera. I huffed, looking at her with a look that practically screamed,
'really? this?'She nodded happily, bringing me outside yo stand next to the tree that was in front of the house. I had to admit, it was a fairly cute location and I figured the pictures wouldn't turn out that bad.
SNAP- was all my ears could hear for the next couple minutes, as I chuckled at the pure excitement my aunt was getting out of this. "Okay, you can go now." She nodded, tapping at little buttons on the camera and waving me off.
