Chapter 3

I felt something prick my arm and everything went back into motion.

I yelled,"Molly!"

Dad ran in as asked, "what?Are you ok?"

"Is Molly ok?"I asked.

"Yes,"he replied.

"Daddy it was my fault!"I shouted.

"Don't say that,"he assured.

"No really.I took my foot out of the stirrup because.....because......I DON'T KNOW!"I cried.

Dad wrapped his arm around me.

I felt the warmth of my bed and I jumped up and slipped on my boots running outside to see Chandler and Max dragging a gorgeous dark brown horse with a black mane out of the grey trailer.

I stared at it and saw them lead it away and I ignored it and walked to Molly.

I saw a strawberry blond hair girl with blueish,grey eyes and tan English riding pants and a navy blue long-sleeved cotton vest with a white shirt underneath and black English boots.

She was chase Molly around with a lead rope and when Molly caught sight of me she darted out.

I grabbed her halter and scrunched up my eyebrowns and asked, "what are you doing?"

"Oh um you are up,"She said.

"A.who are you?B. what are you doing with my horse? C.why?"I asked.

"I'm Lola Zag, I thought she would be nice to ride ,and I just wanted to,"she explained.

"So do people just ride other people's horses?"I asked.

"No but I'm going to tell Andy you didn't take care of your horse this morning!"She shouted running to our house.

I saw her talking to daddy and I ran up and dad said, "Lola this is the third time you came to me to tell me something about someone,"

"Andy this new girl is a bratty jerk!"She shouted.

"Don't you say that about my daughter!"he gasped.

"Your-your daughter?"she asked.

I turned around and saw Max with a girl with blond wavy hair that went to her shoulders and I couldn't see her eyes because they were closed.He was kissing her and her arms wrapped around his neck and he held her waist.

I ran to Max and said, "Hi I'm Abbie,"

The girl quickly dispatched the kiss and replied, "Hi I'm Mia.You must be his sister!He has been talking nonstop about you coming!"

I smiled and in the corner on my eye I saw the horse behind the tan colored barn in a stall on the outside of the barn.

I walked to the horse and looked at the bronze name.

OAK

I traced the letters with my finger and when I looked up Oak was standing in front of me staring at me.

I put my hand up and she flinched away so I pulled my hand away and close to me.

I put it out again and I cupped my hand around her nose and she breath deeply.

Her eyes were deep brown so dark nearly black so I had to stated at them for a little while to figure out what color it was.

She had a tiny white star blob on her forehead.

I placed my forehead on Oaks forehead.

I went to the stained wood tack box and pulled the lid up listening to the faint squeak of the hinges.

"Halter,lead rope,"I whispered looking for a halter and lead.

I found a purple halter and green lead rope at the bottom and pulled them out.

I put it on the gorgeous mare and clipped the lead on and walked her out.She took to uneasy steps before continuing in a smooth walk.She walked right beside me and I decide to take her to the paddock just to let her run.

I opened the fence door and lead her in.

I walked her in a circle before unclipping the lead rope to let her run.

I patted her and she took off galloping away as if she hadn't ran for a long time.

I stared at her feet and each time they touch the ground and every time they lifted as if she was flying.

I turned around to sit on the fence and saw eight girls in a line talking and laughing.Two of the girls looked identical my guess twins becuase they had the same pixie cut colored sun blond hair and blue eyes and they both were wearing cotton red vests with blue long-sleeved underneath.The two twins had black paints but not  the same pattern.

Three of the girls had chestnut colored horses.One had a blaze,one had a blob over its left   eye,and one had a large star on its fore head.There was a beautiful dun,a pure black,and a palomino gold horse with a dirty white mane and tail.

"Well there having a good time,"I whispered.

They trotted their horses over to me and one of the twins said,"what are you wearing Where's your english......cowgirl!"

I looked at my fithly jeans and lime green tee shirt.

They all laughed before they cantered away except for one girl with Carmel hair that was pulled into a messy bun.She stared at me with blueish,brown eyes and asked, "Are you new?"

She had a kind voice asked I cautiously replied, "Yeah, I'm Abbigal,"

"Andy's daughter right?"she asked.

I nodded and she said, "Hi I'm Maddison......I'm your cousin,"

I smiled and said,"wait!You came out to Washington when my mom died!You stayed with me and took a plane back here by yourself!"

She smiled.

I was over joyed to be with my cousin who I was very close to.

"Maddie,"I cried hugging her.

"Oh um Abbie this is my horse Dewey,"She exclaimed leaning against the pure black horse.

"Hey,"I whispered.

He was breathing deeply, my thought was they just went on a ride but I wanted to know the truth so I asked, "you guys just finish a ride?"

She shook her head and replied, "Well we were about to.I tack him up found my friends and were walking to the trail,"

I looked at her with concern and she asked, "what?"

"He's breathing so heavily,"I told her.

She stuck her hand on Deweys nose and she looked as is she was going to cry.

"Let's get him to Mrs.Steph,"I told her.

We walked him to the vet barn and she took him inside while we sat on a bench drinking ice cold lemonade.

"GOSH I hope he's ok!"She whispered.

I put my arm around her and reassured her,"She will find the problem and give him a treatment,"

She nodded and then Mrs.Steph came out with a concern face.
