The next afternoon Regina awkwardly walked up to Gold's shop. The sign said closed, but she walked in anyway. It was unlocked. "Hello, you here Gold?"

His came from the back room, "Yes. This is my shop." He walked out and looked around her checking the sign, "You just invited yourself in?" His brow wrinkled as he motioned to the closed sign.

"I got you that date with that girl." She walked over to one of the display counters and picked something up.

"Women." He mumbled under his breath. Then he continued, "So, what are the details?"

"Granny's at six tonight." She began to toss the small artifact from one hand to another.

"How did you manage to convince her?" He walked over and reached to take the object from her, but when their hands touched she turned to look at him before quickly backing up.

"It doesn't matter." She mumbled. The urge to kiss him overwhelmed her. "I have thing to do. I'll be leaving now."

Gold watched her leaving wondering why she left so fast. Maybe she was still a bit off from their, um, run in the day before.

Gold sat in one of the booths at the local diner. He sat on the far side so he could watch the door.

At 6:39 Lacy walked through the door and ran her fingers through her hair. When she spotted Mr. Gold she walked over and sat down across from him.

The introduced themselves the Ruby came over to take their order. Gold ordered a hamburger and a coke, and Lacy ordered shrimp with wine.

The talk was little and far between. The date went horrible. Gold question why he even wanted to go on a date with her. She wasn't anything like him. Even now, on their first date, she smelled of smoke.

The next morning Regina stopped by the shop. She walked up to counter. Where a beautiful bouquet of flowers sat. Golds stood on the other side.

"Can I help you miss Mills?"

"I came to ask about your date. How did it go?"

"Well, if you must know, not very well. Lacy was not who I thought."

A grin spread across her face, "Good." The words seemed to slip from her mouth without a thought.

"Pardon me?" A surprised expression on his face.

What was she supposed to do? It was too late to deny it. All the sudden she leaned across the counter and kissed him.

It was sweet, and only lasted a moment. They both backed up still just inches from one another's face. Gold smiled before kissing her.

Then there was a knock at the door, "Mom."

Regina sat up. It was just a dream. "Come in Henry."

Henry waked into her room, "It's almost time for school. I just wanted to say bye and I love you."

"Bye honey. I love you."
