§Ben POV§

Ok. I know I'm extremely dense, but I think I crossed over the line of stupidity.

I realize this as my grandmother is standing here ground, glaring and ready to attack the blue celestial-sapian standing in front of her. Continuing my idiot streak I jump between them, forming a mana shield defensively around Zurry, as I talk to my grandmother, who is also the all powerful ruler of this planet, full of all powerful female energy beings. Please let luck be on my side for once.

"Woah! Woah, woah, woah, woah. Can we please work this out in a civilized manner?! If you attack him, you'll most likely cause another war! And he isn't here to threaten you! He just needed my help so I brought him here."

My grandma paused, skeptically eyeing Zurry. After apparently seeing he was no threat she put down her arms, mana dissipating. Seeing she wasn't going to attack I let the shield go down.

"Okay. Now, let's talk this out like big kids, ok? Ok." I turn to Zurry expectantly, edging him to tell his story.

"W-well... I was on my home planet, Celestiana, when... they came. The things invaded my home planet, and I was on archer offence, despite being a trainee as we needed more soldiers. We were trying to infiltrate the main power base, to shut them down, and force a retreat. After we would call the Universe council. That was the plan. It never pulled through. We were going in, taking them out one by one for the swordsmen and gunmen to get through. Then, one came. It took out half of our offensive team. We had to pull back, but I saw a crack. It was on the ships reactor, which would implode on itself  if it was un contained. So, if I broke the glass just a little, it would destabilize. I had one arrow left, people were rushing past me to escape, the enemy was closing in, and I was shaking. I quipped the arrow, aimed, and released my hand... I missed. I was pushed into a room, which turned out to be an escape pod. I had to turn it on, and leave my planet to those... monsters. I will always regret not being a little more to the right!" He grit his teeth, hanging his head so his hair was hanging in front of his eyes, a curtain used to hide the tears.

Since I didn't know the whole story, I was shocked. I guess this explains the crying earlier. I mean, because of a simple mistake, his entire planet was enslaved.

"What were these creatures called?" My grandmother hesitantly asked. I also turned to look at him, curious as well.

He looked up at us, face unnaturally blank. It unnerved me to no end. After what felt like forever he parted his lips to speak.

"Gray Lights." I could see my grandmother's eyes widen, her face becoming a few shades of purple lighter. And here I come to make you face palm.

"Uhhhh... what are "Gray Lights"? Are they like energy or something?" I could practically feel them sweat drop.

My grandma sighed. "That's it. Whether you like it or not, you're taking a class in Different Species." Yay. More work.
