(Lacy's POV)

"Hey dad." I greeted. "Hey, I've called several times." My dad greeted back. "Yeah, I know. I've been kinda busy." I said. "Is everything alright? You sound off." I forced the tears back. "Dad, I have to tell you something..." I said. "Go on?" My dad urged. "Dad, I went with Summer here to a party...umm...and well...I was raped there." I said. "I'm in the hospital now." My dad was quiet for a moment. "You're okay now though, right?" He asked. "I will be." I said. "Should I come down to see you?" He asked. "No Dad, I'll be fine. The detectives are wanting me to stay down here until they get him though." I said. "Where's Jaycob?" Dad asked. "He's with a friend of Kellz'." I said. "Is Kellz gonna stay there with you?" He asked. "I'm not sure, but I promise either way I'll be okay." I replied. "I can come down there to be with you." Dad said. "No Dad, just stay home. I will be fine." I said. "Alright," Dad said. "Just please be careful. How long will you be in the hospital?" The nurse came back with my food and water. "I'm not sure. Hey, the nurse just got back with my food. I'll call you back." I said. "Okay, I love you, Lacy Jane." I said. "You too. Bye." I hung up.

The nurse got the bedside table set up and put my soup and water on it. "I also brought cheese, bacon bits, and crackers." She said. "Thank you so much." I said, putting it all in my soup. She smiled. "It's not a problem. Would you like some soup now?" She asked Kellz. He shook his head no. She nodded and walked back out.

We sat in silence as I ate. I didn't look at him but I could tell he was watching me. I didn't know what to say. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." I replied. "I'm sorry," He continued. "About, well, everything here lately. I just want you to know that I've been trying my best." He said. "I know you have." I said. "...and I'm sorry for driving you to the point where you had to come here to get away and breathe. I just can't pick between you and my fans. You both are a part of me, of who I am. I know that bothers you. But I can't help it, and for that I really am sorry." I put my spoon down. He had tears in his eyes. I wiggled my pointer finger at him, signaling for him to come here. He sat next to me on the bed facing me and I sat up. I wrapped my arms around him and leaned my head on his chest.

"I love you." I whispered. He kissed my forehead. "I love you most." He said. "We're gonna get out of this mess one way or another, I promise." He said. "I sure hope so." I said.

I made him sit up so I could lay down and then he laid his head on top of my chest. "Look at all we've been through in these past few months." I said, playing with his hair. "I know. It's crazy." I smiled. "I love you, with my whole heart." I said. "I love you most." I laughed. Nope, I thought.

I was released from the hospital the next morning. Kellz had to go back to Cleveland for Casie. I stayed in California at a hotel he was paying for. I called the detective the day after I got out and we set up an appointment for that night.

I decided to call Summer. "What?" She greeted. "Wanna yell at me some more?" I laughed. "No, Summer. I just wanna talk." She sighed. "Fine." She said. "I'll go first. I was drunk, Lacy. I had no idea what the fuck was going on. I thought you two were having fun until you started screaming and everyone started running to your rescue, pushing me out of the way. If I would have known sooner, I'd have helped but I couldn't." I nodded. "I was not trying to be selfish. I was helpless." She said. "I know. I'm really sorry for what I said...I just...I don't know." I said. "I know. I'm so sorry." Summer replied. "It isn't your fault." I said. "I just wish I wouldn't have come here." Summer sniffed, trying to stop crying. "Yeah, same. But we did. I'm sorry I brought you." She said. "Don't be." I said. "Hey, I'm sorry but I have a visit with Charlie in about 30 minutes. I really have to go." I nodded. "Okay. Give him kisses for me."

I sat in the empty hotel room, wishing I knew what to do. I thought about my needle for the first time in what felt like forever. I'd been clean for almost a year now. But in times like this, my needle was always here for me. I shoved that thought out of my head. Nope, I'm not gonna go back to that.

(Kellz' POV)

I got back to Cleveland early the next morning after I left. I picked Jaycob and Casie both up from Ash's. "You didn't tell Vanessa anything, did you?" Ash shook her head no. "I just told her that you had to go to California unexpectedly for some work stuff." I nodded."Thanks." She nodded back. "You're welcome. So how are you?" I shook my head. "I'm not really sure. Lacy has been crying non-stop. I've completely ran out of words. She doesn't react to my actions. I'm kinda trying to bring a dead woman back alive in a way, you know?" Ash nodded. "I'm not sure, but maybe she doesn't want you to do or say anything. She could just want you to be there for her." Ash said. "So should I have stayed in Cali?" I asked. "Not necessarily, I mean you did need to be here for when Vanessa gets here because we know how she is when you aren't, but if Lacy is still there after Vanessa comes and gets her, I think you should go back." Ash advised. I nodded. "I probably will." Ash nodded. "I gotta get back to Bad Boy." Ash said. I nodded. "Alright, see ya." I said. I walked to the car, Casie at my heels and Jaycob in my arms. I put Jaycob in his seat while Casie buckled her seat belt next to him

"Daddy, is Lacy okay?" Casie said. "Yeah baby, she's fine." I said, realizing I was more trying to convince myself more than her. "Where is she?" Casie asked. "California." I said. "Why did she go there?" Casie asked. "Vacation." I said. "Why didn't you go?" Casie asked. "Mommy wouldn't be very happy if I took you out of the state without warning her atleast a few days in advance, and Lacy didn't say anything about it until the day she left, now let's not ask anymore questions." I said. "...and let's not talk to Mommy about it either, okay?" Casie nodded. "Lacy's coming back though, right Daddy?" I nodded. "Yes, she'll be back probably in a few days." Casie nodded. "Okay." I gave her kiss and shut her door and hopped in the car, heading home.
