(Lacy's POV)

Summer and I woke up at 11 AM, put our bikini's and shorts on, packed our towels and sunscreen in a bag, and drove down to the beach. It was so beautiful. A man probably a few years older than Kellz let us borrow two surf boards. Summer and I both attempted to surf. Both of us were terrible at it. We tried to hold each other up when we stood but ended up knocking each other down, laughing at whoever fell.  The wind whipped our hair every which way. The water was cold, but once you got used to it, it was great. We stayed at the beach until around 2.

Afterwards, we drove around and found a nice looking restaurant. It was a seafood buffet and it was pretty cheap. We ate in silence. My phone vibrated, signaling a text. Kells. *Hey. Just checking on you. Hope you made it to California safely. Your dad called me looking for you. I told him about you going to California. I also told him about what's been going on lately, seeing if he could give me advice. I'm sorry if I was wrong for that. I'm just worried about you. About us. I love you.* I snickered. "What?" Summer said. "Kells." I said. "He texted me about how worried about us he is, when he's the one who started all of this." Summer stayed quiet. "I...I don't think he did it alone." Summer said. "I mean, no offense, but you did know he was famous when you got with him." Anger washed over me. "Oh, so you're on his side now. My best friend is on my fiance's side. Wow." Summer rolled her eyes. "Stop acting like a child, Lacy. Really think about this right now. Are you mad at me and Kells, or are you really mad at you. You knew he was famous when you got with him, but something told you that you could handle it. You're realizing you can't handle as well as you thought, so you're pissed. Am I right?" I laughed. "You don't know me at all, do you?" It was Summer's turn to laugh. "Yeah, I do. I know that you get pissed when you know you're wrong, like right now. I know you tend to push love away because you're too afraid of another fucking stupid ass Brandon. I know that you've had a lot of pain and hurt in your life, but you're too afraid to hurt more by letting go. I know you more than I know myself...and I know that you are way better than this." Summer wiped away her tears. Mine started to spill out. "I'm sorry, Summer." She just stood up and headed out the door to her car. I followed. We  drove around in silence.

Later, I was laying out on the beach. Summer was in the water surfing by herself, still failing and falling. Neither one of us had really spoken since the argument. I decided to call Kellz and talk to Jaycob. He answered on the first ring. "Hi, I'm calling to talk to Jaycob, if that's okay." I greeted. "Yeah that's fine. Casie's here. She wants to talk to you, too." I smiled. "Put me on speaker." I heard Kellz fidget with his phone. "Hey, Lace!" Casie greeted. "Hi, baby. Are you having fun with Daddy and Jaycob?" I asked. "Yeah. I am." Casie said. "Jaycob quit trying to grab the phone." I laughed. "Hi Jaycob. Mommy loves you." My son made a kind of squealing noise. I smiled harder. "What are you doing?" I asked. "He's chewing on one of his toys and trying to take the phone. I'm watching TV." Casie said. "Oh, what are you watching?" I asked. "A Hannah Montana marathon is on Disney Channel right now." Casie said. "Oh, I love Hannah Montana!" I exclaimed. Casie laughed. "Me too." She said. "Can you hand the phone to your daddy now?" I asked. "Yeah, love you." Casie said. "Love you too." I said.

"Hey." Kellz greeted. "Hi." I said. "How's Cali?" He asked. "Beautiful." I said. "Yeah, it is. You having fun?" Kellz asked. "Not really." I replied. "Oh, why not?" He asked. "Because I miss you." I replied. "I miss you more." Kellz said softly. "Look, I'm sorry that I don't spend that much time with you. But I-" I cut him off. "I know, you kind of have to travel and be there for your fans. I get that now. I'm sorry. I just, I just miss you so much sometimes and it really fucks me up." Kellz thought for a moment. "Do you honestly think it doesn't fuck me up too?" Pause. "You have a distraction though. I don't. I mean I have Jaycob and sometimes Casie but they're both just reminders of how much I miss you." I said. "So what do you want to do about all of this? Do you still want me?" Kellz asked. "I will always want you. I will always want your childishness, your affection, your love, your spirit. Your everything. You will always have my heart. Just because I wish things were different, doesn't mean I'm kicking you to the curb. I just want you to help me in knowing that everything will be okay." I said. "..and everything will be okay." Kellz said. "As long as I have you." I said. "..and as long as I have you." Kellz said. "I love you, so much." I said. "I love you so much more." Kellz said. "Never, never in your life ever." Kellz laughed. "I love you, baby." He said. "I love you too." I said. "Call or text me later, I'm about to make Casie some lunch and change and feed Jaycob." I smiled. "Have fun." I said. "You too." He said. We hung up.

Summer was standing next to me when I hung up the phone. "Everything okay?" She asked. "Yeah, everything's fine. Better even." I smiled. "That's great. Look, I'm-" I cut her off. "Don't apologize," I said. "You were right." I said. "Fucking bitch." I joked. She laughed. "I love you, Lace. I just want what's best for you." Summer said. I gave her a hug. "I know you do." I said. "Thank you."

We spent that whole day at the beach, laying out to catch a tan, surfing, talking, and laughing. Around 6 PM, I realized I was hungry. Super hungry. We went to a steakhouse and I ate a huge steak, big baked potato, and some corn. It was so good. Afterwards, we went to the liquor store and back to the hotel and drank until we passed out.
