Lacy's POV)

About an hour after I woke up, a female detective came in to question me. She told me that Summer gave her the just of it, but she needed details.

"I live in Cleveland, Ohio but I've been vacationing here for the past few days with my friend. We were out at breakfast when a guy approached us at the restaurant. He told us that his name was David. He told us that him and his friends were having a party and he'd like us to come. My friend, a young and single female, of course was ecstatic to go. Me, an engaged mother, was the opposite, but I went anyway because I wasn't sure what that man was capable of." I took a deep breath. Kellz squeezed my hand. "Anyways, later that night we arrived at the party. My friend practically left me alone to go dance with David. A friend of his approached me. Every time he talked he stared at my breasts." I closed my eyes to keep the rest of the images out of my head. "He suddenly put his lips on mine. They tasted like Jack Daniels. He carried me to the couch, puting his fingers in me as he walked. I couldn't move... I couldn't scream, couldn't fight back." Tears streamed down Kellz' face.

"He kept sliding in and out of me while I screamed because I finally got the courage. After what felt like forever, I just laid there letting him have is fucking way with me. Then all the sudden people were pushing and pulling and shoving all around me and then I woke up here."

The detective handed me a tissue. I cried for a minute or two. "Alright, Ms. Leraux. When you get out of here and you're ready to talk, here's my card. I'd prefer you stay here in California until we get this all straightened out." I nodded. The detective left after handing me her card.

I cried even more. Kellz looked out the window, unsure what to do or say.
"I'm sorry." I said. "For what?" Kellz asked. "Going to that fucking party. Dancing with that guy. I didn't even want to dance with him. I hope you know that." Kellz sat down by my bed again. "I'm not mad at you, baby. I'm pissed off in general. This is not your fault. Stop blaming yourself." I cried again. Kellz climbed back in the bed with me. He ran his fingers through my hair and kissed my forehead. I put my ear to his heart. It was beating steadily. I took a couple deep breaths and fell asleep.

(Later)
"Yeah, she'll be fine. They want her to stay here til they figure out who is and what to do with the piece of shit who did this to her, but I have to get back to Casie. No, she's probably headed back to Cleveland. She watched the whole thing happen and didn't do anything about it, according to Lacy. Yeah, some friend right? Oh, she's awake. I gotta go." I just laid there. I wasn't even curious about who he was on the phone with. I felt dead, but I was alive.

"You okay, baby?" Kellz asked. "No." I answered. "I went down to the little hospital gift shop shit downstairs and I got you something." Kellz said. He handed me a giant teddy bear holding a heart that says "I love you". I thought it was adorable but at the moment I couldn't even pretend to be happy. "Thanks." I mumbled.
Kellz just sat on his chair by my bed. We sat in silence until he got bored and turned on the TV. "I love you." He said. "I always will." I turned the opposite direction facing the wall. Tears filled my eyes. "I love you too." I thought.

(Kellz' POV)
Seeing the woman I love hurt like this was crushing me. All I wanted to do was fine the guy and rip his fucking head off his body and tear him to tiny pieces. All I could think about was how I let her come here. Why did I do that?

Ash called and asked about what happened. I told her. She told me that Vanessa was coming to pick Casie back up tomorrow, so I know I'll probably have to go back to Cleveland tonight. Lacy will probably stay here like the detective suggested. I really don't want her to.

Suddenly, Lacy started screaming. I realized after a minute that she was having a nightmare. A nurse ran in.
I was trying to wake her.

"Don't wake her!" The nurse said. She softly caressed the side of Lacy's face. Lacy slowly stopped screaming and opened her eyes. She slowly sat up, looked at me, and started crying.

I'd ran out of comforting words. The nurse hugged her. "You're alright, dear." She said. "Wanna know a secret? I've been where you are...and it sucks. You don't even feel like you anymore. You're ashamed of yourself for something you didn't even do. But you know what? It's all gonna be okay, sugar. You're gonna be just fine." Lacy cried some more. "I'll bet that you're hungry. If you aren't, you need to eat anyway. I'm gonna run down to the cafeteria to get you something to eat. Is potato soup okay?" Lacy nodded. "Some ice water too, please." She nodded. "What about you?" She asked me. "I'm not hungry. Thank you though." The woman nodded.

"Where's my phone?" Lacy asked. I got it off a counter in the room. "Here." I said. "You...you haven't talked to..to my dad, right? About-" I cut her off. "No, baby." I said. She nodded. "He's called 12 times in the past few days." She said. She dialed his number. I watched TV with no sound til they were done.
