"How about this one?" he picked up the puppy in his hands. "He's so cute."

You gulped, "can we get one who doesn't look like he's going to pee at any given moment?"

The Chihuahua shook violently with fear.

Jonghyun frowned, "but he's so tiny."

"I want a bigger dog, not a lap dog," you strolled around the rest of the pens. "How about that one?"

"You want that one?!"

You bounced, "please!? Ugh, its so cute."

The group of  Great Danes ran towards you both eagerly. They spotted white and black, like cows, with adorable green eyes. How could you not want them?

"They're HUGE," your boyfriend shrieked. "Are you sure these are puppies? They're three times the size as the others."

"Size doesn't matter, Jonghyun," you batted your eyelashes.

He crossed his arms, "I'm going to quote you on that for the rest of our mortal lives."

"Why? You know I mean it."

"Baby, I don't want a big dog, and you know we can't have a big dog in our apartment, it's not big enough for it to run around in," he tried to reason with you.

"It's not too late to take back the deposit," you smirked. "We haven't finished unpacking, so we could find a bigger place."

"_______-ah," he groaned. "It took us forever to find the perfect place, it's going to take us twice as long to find another place. Let's compromise, okay? Let's find a dog that's not too small, but not too big."

You tapped your chin for dramatic effect. Who were you trying to kid? Jonghyun was right. As much as you hated to admit it sometimes, the man had a point.

"Fine," you sighed.

"Come on," he grabbed your hand. "I see some pretty cute puppies over here."

Cute was an understatement. Your insides were melting at how unbelievably adorable the puppies were. If you could convince Jonghyun to adopt them all, you would. Knowing that he was a man of reason, you didn't even attempt to. One of the puppies would have to suffice.

There were many different breeds. Labradors, Golden Retrievers, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Pomeranians, Huskies, it was puppy heaven. They were just as happy to see you, their high pitched barks ringing in your ears.

After many, many, many, many, many, man, many minutes, you both settled down in a pin full of the breed you had decided on. Long haired Dachshund puppies, the epitome of precious. Their long bodies, their tiny legs, and their fluffy ears were almost too much for you to take. Sure, you had said "no lap dogs", but how the hell could you say no to  those little fuckers?

"Well, which one do we take?" Jonghyun crouched down to a couple of puppies.

Your eyes darted to each one of them, "all of them?"

He glared, "ONE."

You slumped, "how about that one?" You pointed to one by his feet.

It was a male, and a very shy one at that. While the other puppies were causing a commotion around Jonghyun,  he slightly wagged his tail, not wanting to bother anyone.

"This one?" he picked him up gently. "He's a little timid isn't he?"

"I like him," you strolled to the two. "And you know what?"

"What?"

"If you look closely," you took the pup from his hands and placed him next to his head, "he looks just like you."

"Son!" he exclaimed happily.

The puppy trembled, terrified by the sudden roar.

"Sorry," Jonghyun pet him delicately. "I promise I won't yell."

"Don't trust him, he's a screamer," you winked.

You wiped the sweat off your forehead, "I could use a break. I've been working hard."

Moving wasn't your favorite thing in the world. If it wasn't for the fact that you were moving in with Jonghyun, you would have hired someone to do all the work for you. But since that wasn't  case, you would much rather handle all the personal objects yourself.

Your boyfriend, much to your disappointment, had to work. He didn't want to either, but he didn't have a choice. Good thing you weren't alone, you had the company of your puppy, Hachi. He did help rip open the cardboard boxes with his teeth, that was some help.

"You too, huh, Hachi?" you ruffled his shaggy ears.

He yelped in response, running away to some other piece of cardboard. He wasn't as shy as you had initially thought, he was actually just very tranquil. He was one mature puppy.

"Woah, you got a lot done," Jonghyun gasped. "I was only gone for five hours."

"You're home!"

"No, I'm still at practice," he rolled his eyes. "Yes, I'm home. You should really be a detective."

"I don't have the qualifications," you shrugged. "Whatever that means."

"You must be tired after all the arranging," he hugged you from behind. "I'm sorry I couldn't help."

You tilted your head back, "that's okay, Hachi did most of the work anyway."

"Ah, yes, my son is making me proud," he beamed. "Did you eat yet?"

"I wish."

"I didn't either, let's order some take out," he suggested.

"Sounds like a plan, we can make a table out of that box over there."

"Do you know when they furniture store will deliver the dining set?"

"I don't think we'll be eating on a table for another week."

"Have they delivered the bed?"

"Nope," you pouted. "We'll be sleeping on the floor for a while."

"Or..." he pecked your temple slowly, "we'll have more sleeping positions to try out."

"I have a feeling we won't be doing much sleeping,"  you twirled on your heel.

"You knew what you were getting into when you decided to move in with me," he leaned down to roughly plant his lips on yours. "Too late now."
