Adi & Mikey

Chapter 3

~ Adriana's P.O.V. ~

We arrived at my house, nobody spoke a word. Mikey walked out of the house with his arms crossed and eyes glaring at all 3 of us.

Noelia: "Shit."

Me: "He wasn't supposed to come home for another hour!"

Noelia: "Sneaky bastard..."

Me: "Hey! Still my brother."

Noelia: "Yea, whatever. I know."

We all slumped out of the car and Mikey stood in the doorway. Noelia stood up in front of him, stared into his eyes, and crossed her arms.

Noelia: "Wanna move so I could get inside?"

He rolled his eyes and slid over to the side. Noelia grew a sarcastic smile across her face and patted Mikey on his shoulder. Leilani walked up to the door way and slowly looked at Mikey. He eased up as he saw her red puffy eyes and grabbed her arm. He tightly hugged her.

Mikey: "Shh, you're okay Lani."

She started balling her eyes out and clenched on to his shoulders as she wrapped her arms up his torso. He held the back of her neck and her lower back and held her tightly. I looked down at the floor and tried to creep inside. He stretched his leg out to block the pathway inside. I looked inside at Noelia and she raised her hand as she chugged water.

Noelia: "Got her!"

She ran outside and grabbed Leilani and walked her inside to the couch. Mikey straightened out his shirt and walked in front of me.

Mikey: "Wanna tell me what happened?"

I rubbed the back of my neck

Me: "We went to another one of Nathan's party...."

Mikey: "How many times do I have to tell you guys not to go out without me? Something always happens at one of the parties, and it's always the kids that don't live around here."

Me: "I know Mikey, we just wanted to go out for the first time in like forever. We didn't expect anything to happen to Leilani, nobody ever messes with us."

Mikey: "Yea well look how that turned out, you can't expect things to go your way, you can't control other peoples' actions Adi, everyone knows that. And the reason why nothing ever happens to you girls is because I'm always with you. You all have your guard down at parties because I'M ALWAYS THERE." He said as he widened his eyes and threw his hands in the air.

I didn't know what to say. He was right, every time we went to the party, we only let our guard down if he's with us. That was our fault for being so careless. He rubbed his eyes and crossed his arms.

Mikey: "Wanna tell me what happened with Leilani now?"

I dreaded this conversation, he always had a soft spot for Leilani. Maybe because he thought of her like a sister as well? I'm not sure. But he always was protective of her, at one point I thought he liked her, she was always there for him with everything that happened between him and Taylor. She knew how to comfort him, unlike Noelia and I that hated Taylor so we never knew what to tell him when they got back together.

I told him everything that happened and I saw his jaw tighten. After a quick minute, his eyes softened up and he sighed.

Mikey: "Is she okay?"

He said softly while looking inside and looking inside the house at Leilani. I cross my arms and arch one eyebrow and looked at Mikey. He turned around, looked at me, widened his eyes, looked around, and shrugged his shoulders.
