We all sat down for lunch, it was already 12 and sadly, the boorish girl was still here. We all sat at the table, prepared for my Aunts famous grilled cheese and homemade lemonade.

Her grilled cheese was always perfectly toasted with the right amount of butter. Her lemonade was the perfect mixture of water, lemons, and sugar. It was the best basic lunch I've ever eaten.

At the rectangular table, Aunt Marisol sat at one end of the table, Dante and Julie across from each other but near Titi Mari, Emily and I were across next to the kids. I was on Julianna's side and she, obviously was next to Dante.

We all had our cups filled with Lemonade and our plates with 2 grilled cheeses each.

Julianna and I were half way done with our first one, Titi Mari just sat down so she barely started eating, Dante was already on his second one, and his girlfriend has not touched her food.

Her face is buried into her phone and she sits with her legs crossed, elbows on the table with her back straight.

Titi Mari cleared her throat and Julie and I stopped eating and looked at her. She was trying to get Dante's attention. She cleared her throat again. And again.

Suddenly he jumped up and screamed in pain and Julie smiled. "Did you just kick me!?" he yelled at her. She gestured towards her mother and he looked at her.

Titi Mari pointed to his girlfriend, we all find it rude to be on your phone at the table and to have your elbows on the table, both of which she was doing.

He sighed and tapped her shoulder as we began to eat again, pretending we didn't just have a secret meeting.

He taps her shoulder again. And again. I swear these two are both slow.

I stood up and leaned over the table, ripping her phone from her grip and pushed her elbows off the table.

"Hey!" she tried grabbing the phone back and I gave her a look.

"This isn't your house. Maybe you can be rude at your house, but not here. The child is more well mannered than you are. I'm not sure how your parents raised you, but we were raised different. Put your damn phone down for 1 minute, and you'll see that there's some bomb ass food in front of you-"

I turned to my Titi and Julie "Excuse my language-" I turned back to Emily

"and if you want your phone back, you better act like a fucking civilized human being."

I put the phone next to my plate and took a sip from my drink. She got up to reach for her phone and I swatted her hand away.

"Reach across this table one more time, and you wont have a hand to grab with." I coarsely stated.

She pouted and slumped back into her chair, staring at the food. I picked up my grilled cheese to take a bit and looked up at my relatives. They all stared at me with an open mouth. I forced a closed-mouth, cheesy smile and continued eating.

My aunt cleared her throat and continued her meal as my little cousin giggled and Dante glared at me. I gave him a nod and a smirk, with a "you're welcome" look.

He rolled his eyes and released a big sigh as he continued his food as well. Emily started to pick at her food and I glared at her.

She looked up at me and sighed while picking up the sandwich and gesturing it with a 'cheers' motion and sarcastic smile then took a bite.

Her eyes widened as she gracefully chewed. I raised my eyebrows and smirked. "Good right?"

"Yes, really good-" She turned to my aunt. "Your cooking is amazing, thank you Mrs. Ramirez!"
